“central location, baby friendly”

Stayed here with my husband and baby. Good central location, easy walk to London Bridge station (10min stroll). All the staff were friendly and welcoming, especially to our 6mo son. Hotel was basic in terms of it's facilities and housekeeping was not as great as other hotels I have stayed but then you get what you pay for and I booked this because it was very reasonably priced.
If you want a family friendly hotel in a convenient location and don't mind a lack of luxury then this is perfect!

We stayed for two nights at this hotel over a weekend and our experience was nothing other than exceptional! We paid just £109 in total for both nights (£54.50 per night) for the three of us and that included a free breakfast which was lovely. We stayed in room 506, which was a family room that had been recently refurbished and it was perfect. It was spacious, modern, clean and very quiet. The location of the hotel is ideal, just a 4-5 minute walk to Southwark Tube Station and within two stops you're at the Houses of Parliament! We literally have no negative feedback to give and would happily stay here again as the staff could not do enough for you. All we would say is keep up the high standards you've now set Holiday Inn Express, Southwark!

A clean budget hotel. The rooms are like all rooms in London small. But they are clean and in a good condition. The breakfast are basic but OK. The breakfast room are overcrowded.

Outside the hotell there is a bus stop. The bus takes you to Convent Garden in 10-15 minutes. To the underground there is a less than 10 min walk from the hotel.

Be aware that the Wifi are expensive. The computer in the lobby didn't work,

I recommend this hotel for a budget visit to London.

I visited this hotel on a business trip and it was noisy and uncomofrtable. When I complained to the staff I was given a totally unsatisfactory response. Yes, this is a no frills place and it's location is good but really, for the price you can do a lot LOT better.

The breakfast was crummy and the service in general poor. Try elsewhere.

we stayed at this hotel in december, and was a little disappointed. Although we had a room that had been refurbished, the room smelt of paint (a lot) and there was paint spilled on the carpet in the doorway to the room. The bathroom door also had masking tape still intact after the decorating. The decorating itself was well done, so it was a shame the finished product let it down.

On a better note, the bed (although a small double) was comfy, and the bathroom was adequate with good toiletries on offer.
The reception area was good, clean with friendly staff. We had a drink in the bar which stocked a good selection on drinks.

Breakfast was ok - a small selection of hot food, but good choice of pastries, bread, spreads etc.

Location is very good, close by to London Bridge and Borough market.

Thank you for taking the time to let Trip Advisor have some feedback following your rcent stay at the HIEX London Southwark. At the time of your stay, we were in fact carrying out some redecoration and refurbishment work within the bedrooms and bedroom corridors, this forms part of an ongoing maintenance programme, which will include the installation of new beds, bedroom soft furnishings and carpets in a large number of our bedroom stock.
I was sorry to read that when you stayed at the hotel that you found some paint spillages that had not been cleared up properly by the decorators. in addition, I was concerned that you could still smell paint strongly. I have passed this feedback onto the contractors to ensure that we do not allocate bedrooms in areas that have only just had works completed.
Overall, i was pleased to read that you enjoyed your time at the hotel and you found the location to meet your needs. Thanks again for your feedback and I look forward to welcoming you back to the Holiday Inn Express in the not too distant future. Kind Regards - Stephen

We stayed here with our grandchildren for one night over the Christmas period. The room was very clean and a good size with an extra double sofa bed that was plenty big enough for the two girls aged 5 and 7. The bathroom was standard HIE with plenty of hot water and towels so that was good enough for us. HIE have now started doing hot breakfast which consisted of scrambled eggs, sausages and beans which was plenty along with the normal breakfast of cereals, juices, yoghurts, fruit and toast. Considering we only paid £88 for the room with breakfast and that we were so close to all London amenities and only 5 minutes from the tube the hotel was well placed. They do have a small underground car park that holds about 10 cars but other than that and the 2 meter spaces on the side road the rest is resident parking so you need to bear this in mind if you are going to have a late arrival – the cost until checkout is £18per night but they won't reserve the space for you it really is first come first served. We have stayed in bigger hotels in London with really the same kind of accommodation at more than double the price. We would stay there again but only if the price was right. We have looked at staying at the end of February and the cost was around £150 but it's not worth that kind of money

Location- within 5 mins walk of 2 tube stations an 10 mins walk from waterloo.
Rooms- bog standard HIE room format but kept in excellent condition
staff- friendly and helpful
breakfast-disappointing but a great cafe just over the street does an amazing english breakfast for a few quid
price- cheap if booked well in advance. If booked nearer your trip, you can get better value for money in a full service 4 or5 * for the same price

overall- good but could be better.
