Check in went well and the reception area was lovely, however it went downhill from there as we were led to the basement to the room!!!!!
We were offered no help with our luggage even though I'm mid 70's and had a large case, however the man did hover for a tip, which was not given.
On entering the room we were not so shocked at the size, as we were expecting that but the lack of upkeep is scandalous for £182.00 per night with no breakfast. The walls looked as though they had been damp at some point and the paper was lifting and had dirty marks. The paintwork was peeling and the shower is in need of grouting as black in places. Obviously no bath as very, very small.
Our main concern however was the noise, as outside our room was a school yard with screaming children and later this was used for a football match, so obviously this will allow for no lie in in on your stay. Overall a very expensive night in a small, worn, noisy room!!More
