“Location good for Park Lane and Mayfair - rooms OK”
Reviewed 9 May 2012

This hotel is a good choice if you want a reasonable cost stopover right on Park Lane or need to be in Mayfair. It is in the street directly behind the Park Lane Hilton, and you can access Shepherds Market directly from it. It isn't grand but service is reasonably good.

The room we had was small (as was the bed). The bathroom was tiny. Not much wardrobe space so I wouldn't recommend the room we had for more than a night or two. Decor in the room was generally a little shabby (the carpets were a bit worn and stained here and there) but it was clean and the shower worked well.

But don't let that all put you off - clean, comfortable and low cost accommodation in the centre of town is hard to come by - that's why I have given it an overall 'very good'.

We didn't eat at the hotel (it was room only), there are some great places to eat out the back of the hotel in Shepherds Market.

Free wifi was an unexpected bonus.

Fantastic location, the staff here were very friendly and very helpful, the hotel front lovely and once inside very nice indeed, our twin room was small, a little worn, but very clean and it did the job for our overnight stay to theatre land, a good night sleep was had, the price incl. breakfask and the location was well worth the money, I would reccomend.

I had to go to London and stop for one night. I found the Park Lane Mews hotel on the net.
Not expensive considering it's location.
Very friendly staff. Comfortable room, great to have 'tea-making' equipement.
Always plenty of hot water. Great English breakfast in a nice, old fashioned dining room.
Get the impression that time has passed by this little gem of an hotel by, hidden away behind the great eye-sore of the London Hilton. Some people think it needs refurbishing, perhaps there is some oldish carpet and chipped paint, but I rather liked that, lived in, homely feeling.
Quiet, comfortable, friendly and very well situated. Perfect!

A quiet room with a really comfortable bed. The hotel is well placed away from the noise of park lane yet so close to it.An excellent breakfast . The staff were courteous, friendly and helpful.
Marcus, Kate and the night staff were first class.

A bit old, but service minded staff and central location makes it worth the stay. Maybe a bit expensive compared to similar hotels in London

My daughter and i just spent 2 nights at this hotel. Perfect location for shopping with walking distance to Oxford street and Harrod's. The rooms are clean and the service was fine. My only criticism was that I had sent in advance 2 e-mails requesting a quite room, but was given a room on the 2nd floor facing the front of the hotel. The Hilton hotel is right across the street and there was so much noise from delivery trucks and trash pick-up from very early in the morning, so sleeping in was impossible. We requested a new room the the next night and we were given another room facing the back side of the hotel and here we had a nice, quite night. I would highly recommend to ask for a room in the back if youlike to sleep with on open window and are sensitive to noise.

We booked this hotel as a special treat, we wanted to do some sight seeing in London and booked a rail inclusive trip through Superbreaks.

We read the reviews after booking, and were pannicking to the point we nearly changed hotel!

We certainly should not have worried. The staff were very helpful and friendly, they let us book in early, and couldn't do enough to help us. Yes - maybe the decor is a little shabby, but the price we paid for London accomodation seems to take that into account!!

The breakfast was a real treat - everything you could want for contintental or full english - all piping hot and fresh - delicious.

This hotel was in an amazing location, just around the corner from Hyde Park, about a 20 minute walk from Buckingham Palace and Harrods, there is a tube station within 5 minutes walk - what more can you ask for?! There are some lovely pubs and restaurants directly outside the hotel and we spent our evenings there people watching.

DEFINITELY WILL GO BACK - PLEASE GIVE IT A CHANCE!
