I travel to London by train from my home in the Cotswolds and this hotel is ideally situated and close to transport for convenient links to anywhere in town. The staff are excellent and helpful. The room I stayed in was on the ground floor and clean and reasonably spacious for a single. There is no lift so if you staying on any of the upper floors be prepared for a climb. Breakfast is just continental and would be improved with a cooked offering. If you want a good cheap hotel in London would reccomend.

Room Tip: If you struggle with stairs ground or first floor best

Minutes from Lancasrer Gate/Paddington Underground stations. Also Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens close by. Room was comfortable and cleaned every day with fresh towels as well. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Good self service continental breakfast. Overall very pleased with this hotel and would stay there again.

Room Tip: We stayed in the annex around the corner not far from the main hotel but this was not a problem - the owner escorted us to our room!

The Rhodes Hotel is an old, rustic and Britishly charming hotel. The rooms are small (as they often are in Victorian buildings), but sufficient.
I stayed in the annex, right around the corner, at the top floor. I loved it, but since there is no available elevator, only steep, narrow stairs, I wouldn’t recommend it to people who require one.
Breakfast was nice, but what really stood out was the staff: all extremely helpful, friendly and cheerful.
It’s located very close to the Paddington Station which means you are well connected as far as buses, subways and trains go.
Hyde Park is just around the corner, and if you’re a keen walker like me; it’s a refreshing 30 min walk to either Notting Hill and Portobello Road Market - or Piccadilly Circus and West End, in the opposite direction.
In other words: excellent location!

All the amenities in an excellent location. Friendly attentive hosts, room cosy but with everything you need, breakfast plentiful, fresh and well presented if simple. Would definitely recommend. Air conditioning and heating, good lighting and excellent showers. Appreciate free wifi

went to London for weekend with 2 other friends. Had a room for 3 adults. Good value for money, good value for money, clean and comfortable. On top floor, no lift so a lot of stairs! Waiter at breakfast was brilliant, nothing was too much trouble, very pleasant and extremely friendly.
