Our family stayed in early April and were very impressed. Location is fabulous, staff very knowledgeable and obliging. Our room was quite small but bathroom certainly made up for it, who needs a huge room when there are so many things to be exploring in London! I will certainly recommend this haven in central London.

We have stayed in this hotel twice and it has been excellent both times. Lovely rooms and good, friendly service. The only disappointment on the second visit was that the breakfast we had did not live up to the outstanding quality that we had enjoyed the first time (at same price). That said, we would recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in central London.

I stayed in this hotel around March 2012 and was glad that this hotel was close to the Buckingham palace -- just a min or so away. The room was not as big as I thought I would be (compare to the Marriott London County Hall Hotel);small bathroom but love the shower; breakfast was free; no view..unless looking at another buidling is a view???

but one thing I really.really liked about this hotel was the staff...they're very friendly and helpful; always asking "how am I doing?" or "if I need help?".

One thing I would really want the hotel to consider is to have more hanging bars and please please don't put towels right next to the toilet seat...it wasn't the greatest sight...keep towels away from the toilet seat -- towels need to be distance away from the toilet seat --- That's why this hotel needs to have more of the hanging bars. But once I move things around...had a pleasant stay in this hotel.

Just enjoyed second visit to this special tastefully renovated hotel with a very interesting history. Located 5 minutes walk from St. James Park and 10 minutes from Buckingham Palace -only 2 minutes from St. James Park Underground. Well recruited and trained staff who get the right balance between efficiency and friendliness. In my opinion, the best breakfast in London - and I have tried a few. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to even the most discerning traveller.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking entry courtyard are very quiet at night, even with an open window - quite unusual...

I recently stayed at the St Ermins and was pleasently suprised upon arrival as to how close it is to the tube station and the beautiful entranceway. When I checked in I was informed that I had been upgraded to a suite (i'd paid for a queen bed) which had a seperate living room and TV, double bed and beautiful shower, it felt like standing under a waterfall! All the small touches like bath robes, slippers, chocolates on the bed etc made it even nicer than I was expecting. I found the staff very friendly and polite and would recommend to anyone. The breakfast is expensive, and I think they would be better off including it in the price of the room, but this is London - if you don't want to pay it you don't have too they are plenty of places to eat. Also if your looking for somewhere to eat Victoria Street is just a 5 mins walk away or you could do what I did and catch the tube to elsewhere as it is so close. Overall a very comfortable stay and I would love to visit again in the future, even without the upgrade.

Stayed at the hotel mid-April 2012 in a classic room with queen bed. Initially we were placed in a room in the back with a lovely view of the mechanical systems. We were relocated after getting the supervisor involved and were moved to a room with a courtyard view. However due to maintenance of the property, the view was of scaffolding and canvas. We were given 2 drink tickets for our trouble.

This hotel charges for everything - continental breakfast at 20GBP, internet access (I forget the outrageous price for this but the hotel does give you 15 minute coupons for free access to check email and print boarding passes). Fortunately, there is a Starbucks around the corner which provides free internet access without a purchase.

We did not find the concierge helpful and so used the concierge at the Ritz on Picaddily and got some great restuarant recommendations.

The room was clean but typically small.

The location was ok - walking distance to Westminster Abbey, Big Ben, Buckingham Place and around the corner from the St. James Park tube station, but it is central London so if you want a more colorful neighborhood and nightlife, stay up in Mayfair, Chelsea, Bloomsbury, etc. whichs is wha we will do if we travel to London again.

Room Tip: Use the bus system rather than the tube to see London as you travel to your destination.
