The hotel was in the process of an upgrade so no breakfast room. We had to have a breakfast in a bag deleaved to the room. We wasn't in formed before hand which have been nice as we was looking forward to a full English breakfast. Also no WiFi available even when it was advertised. The staff answer was it's works for us. On the plus side the room was finished to a high standard and when finished the hotel should be a nice place to stay ideal for the westend and central London. Please sort out the WiFi

We arrived on Tuesday 25.9.18.
The hotel is very well situated close to UCL, British Museum, Tottenham Court Rd. Oxford St. Covent Garden etc. A family run small newly renovated hotel. Highly recommended!

Lovely hotel, friendly staff, very easy to find.
We had room 303 (set up as triple) lovely room and nice layout.
Only negative was not enough coffee, sweetener or milk but the staff brought us more with no hassle.
Breakfast was nice but could of done with a bit more bacon... one rasher not quite enough.
Looking to book again for December...

A lovely old renovated Georgian townhouse makes for a comfortable overnight stay in London. Close to Theatreland so good location. I was somewhat disappointed that we were allocated a basement room but it was bright and clean: a comfortable warm bed, crisp white bed linen, quality white towels in a quality shower room and a good supply of toiletries. Some herbal tea in the room and a small mini bar. A warm welcome from Reception and an excellent breakfast buffet with hot items to order. Downside was that the double bed was separated to make two beds which could be seen by the location of the double bed headboard. It mean that one bed was right under the air conditioner- so very cold there. Also the basement room had no views and was very noisy from the creaky floor above and the cleaners who arrived rat 7.30 to the outside store room and were very noisy. However I would happily recommend the Staunton and return.

Booked this hotel months in advance. I'm not really one for the smaller hotels, but the price was good so I went with it.
We dropped our bags off at 10am as we had arrived very early - came back at 2pm for access to our rooms.
The hotel is in the throws of being decorated. All was done except the reception areas, but the decorators were very good and immediately moved from the corridors as soon as we wished to pass.
The hotel is very well presented throughout and obviously newly done - the rooms were excellent and air conditioned. In London, I expect a certain amount of road noise but the sound proofing on the windows was fantastic - all noise with the exception of the loudest sirens were blanked out. The bathrooms are tiny but the showers were good and powerful. The rooms were spotlessly clean!
Breakfast is in the basement in a small room - but it is cooked freshly to order so expect a short delay. If it's busy, you may not get a seat.
As far as I could see, there was no lift and the corridors are narrow. Our rooms were on the 2nd floor and it was the newly carpeted staircase every time - I would therefore suggest that if you have a disability or mobility issue, you may wish to check with the hotel before booking to check that requirements can be handled and easy to access rooms are available.
We arrived in London by train, but I didn't see a car park - so arrange for your car to go elsewhere if you need to bring a car.
As for location - it is about a 5 minute walk to Goodge Street or Tottenham Court Road tube stations, easy walking distance to many theatres and across the road from the British Museum. I thought the location was perfect.
All in all I think this is a great hotel - thanks to all staff. I will stay here again!

Room tip: There is no lift, so if you have any mobility issues talk to the hotel before booking.
