“Kadimah: a quiet and clean place”
Reviewed 12 November 2011

The hotel is situated in east London, in Clapton, a zone mostly popolated from jewish people, so it's a very safe and quiet place where you can notice these people walking around with their typical hats and families with 4-5 children. I 've stayed at the first floor, in which rooms are better than ground floor, in fact they cost around 85 pounds, while rooms in grounfloor cost 75). The room we had was wide, with carpet on the floor ( so you don't need to bring slippers from home), two single beds - it's hard to find a double bed in England - very confortable and with cleaned sheets ( you know how italian people are: we pay a lot of attention to cleanliness!). The room was composed of a modern tv color on the wall and a sink in front of the 2 beds, a safe on the left side, an air-conditioner, a radiator, a mini fridge ( very usefull also to put bottles of water, bacause the water form the sink is drikable but not good!), a small table with 2 chairs and an armchair. The bathroom is quite small but confortable: it had a sink, an hairdryer, a big bath, a waterbawl and a vertical radiator on wich there were towels. The room is cleaned every day. The breakfast is served from 8 to 10 a.m and is typically continental, so for italian people it will result a little bit poor with just cereals, milk, fruit, yogurt. The and Coffe are available round the clock.
Let's talk about the distance: just going out of the hotel there is a bus stop on your right with buses number 253 and 254 that bring you to the center direction. For example, if you'd like to go to "Oxford Circus" (the main shooping street) you have to take the bus till "Bethnal Green", then take the undergroun,Central line - red - and get off at oxford circus: from the hotel to the center it will take almost 45 minutes.
Another guess is related to the tickets: pubblic transport is quite expensive in London, So if you have to stay a week I suggest you to buy the Oyster card, so you'll pay around 27 pound for 1 week (for zone 1 and 2 that are the center of the city). I've bought instead the daily ticket for zone 1 and 2 because I've stayed there for 4 days: it costs 6.60 a day and it's very affordable ( if you consider tha each single run would cost 2,20 pound, with the daily ticìket or the oyster card you'll save lots of money
It 's a good hotel but choose it if you are used to walk, if not, choose an hotel locaed in the center.
I think I have suggested you important information about this hotel.

Have a nice stay and enjoy London! :-)

Kadimah Hotel is a nice option if you want to save some money in London, since other options are extremely expansive in town. Of course you´re not staying near the cities main spots, like Oxford Street, Big Ben, St Paul´s Cathedral or London Bridge. Kadimah Hotel is located in Zone 3, and those places are in Zone 1. The main problem with the hotel is there´s no tube station nearby. Manor House is the nearest, but it´s a 20 min walk, which can be tiring if it´s too cold, windy or if you´re tired anyway. So you have to get a bus (253 or 254) to get there. Bus no. 253 by the way is also a night bus, which can be very helpful to come from Oxford Street and Tottenham Court Road back to the hotel late at night. A very nice russian lady takes care of the hotel (i forgot her name) and the rooms are clean. The breakfast is good and the hotel also offers free wi-fi connection.

We booked in here after a terrible experience at another hotel the previous night. The owner was very happy to show us a room before we committed to staying and we were very impressed. The rooms were clean, bright and very nicely decorated. The staff were all very friendly and couldn't have been more helpful. The beds were extremely comfortable and the bedlinen and towels were beautifully clean and fresh.
My only suggestion would be a kettle in the room. Although there are tea/coffee making facilities available 24/7 in the dining room it would still be nice to make a cuppa before getting dressed in the morning. Breakfast was good with a choice of cereals, yoghurts, fruit, breads and eggs.

Room Tip: We saw a twin and stayed in a triple room, both seemed equally good and we were told that the room w...

I found Irene the Reception Manager very very helpful and I had a lovely large walk in shower which was extremely helpful as I am disabled. Irene could not have been more helpful. I found the towels changed everyday even though I did not request it and I felt very safe staying in the hotel. The room was clean and the sheets were spotless. It was a good stay and I have booked again.

Nice place (dont be fooled by the exterior which looks very budget bnbish - the inside is nice and the rooms have most modern thing you`d excpect to find in a hotel in 2011 ie wifi, flatscreen tv etc..
shock horror though no kettle :( first time ive stayed anywhere without a kettle.
but.. there were nice things such as ensuite bathroom, radio on the wall (im a vintage geek so liked it) etc.

The male, whom i made booking with, was very friendly easy going.

The woman behind the counter (sounded eastern european), i found to be extremely rude, snappy and with next to no patience.
Also check out is miday (very generous, heaven knows why its so late but im not complaining -- but i thought hey if its not till miday i may as well stay till miday).

Anyway at 10.30, 11.10 and 11.40 i got constant knocks from the cleaners on the door demanding to know when im leaving.
If that wasnt enough, i had my bags packed and walked out of room at 11.59, and the reception woman was there and her words were `out now, out`!

Ive never dealt with anyone so rude in customer service before, and id absolutly like an apology.

Its not just me making that observation about the woman`s behaviour, my cousins from israel stayed there for a week in june, and told me the same thing.

Because of this woman, i will not be staying there again (and i visit london often so this is a lot of potential custom gone).

I`d like some kind of feedback from the hotel owners on this if possible, because i shouldnt have to put up with a snappy woman at the desk when im paying 50-60 a night for a single room.

Check out his other reviews and you will see I have scored joint highest; the other 5 hotels he gave only 1/5;1/5;1/5;2/5;1/5.

So thank you for giving us 3/5.

Also the cleaner knocked on your room, as you told me when you made the booking you want to stay 3 nights and then when you checked-in you said you will let us know,as it was our last single room available it was imperative for us to know if you were going to check out. Otherwise, my cleaners never bother a guest before our (as you say very generous late) checkout time of 12.
