“Excellent location, good value, owner responds quickly”
Reviewed November 20, 2015 for a stay in October 2015

The photos and details that Nathan provides are a good representation of the apartment (loved the wood floors in the lounge). There is a nice view from a bedroom balcony. He is very good at responding to questions and concerns and uses a management company for the rental. We had limited experience with the company, other than their representative was there to meet us as scheduled and we were able to reach them earlier in the day when we realized we would be slightly delayed for our 'check-in'. The company provides the linens (they were lovely, big fluffy towels and nice comforters) and does the cleaning (very good, except a bit of mildew on the bathroom ceiling). We appreciated the milk, eggs, coffee and tea supply that the management company left for us. There was also plenty of soap, toilet paper and laundry detergent for the week stay.

The apartment layout worked wonderfully for our multi generational group of 6. We ate many meals in and found the lounge space worked well for our group, but would guess a group of 10 would be cramped at meal times. Each of the 4 bedrooms had armoires and desks, so there was space to unpack (2 of the bedrooms are smaller and worked great for the kids). The 8th floor apartment was very quiet and there was very minimal street noise. We actually didn't bump into many residents, but those we did seemed nice. The entrance door is secured, which is nice. The street lights are not super bright on Commerical Street, but the area always seemed moderately busy and safe.

All of the appliances in the apartment are very good quality and we appreciated the large refrigerator (super clean), washer and dryer for our week long stay. The clothes washer is very nice and high-end, however I think there must be a valve issue, as water would siphon back into the chamber between cycles. We simply ran the cleaning/sterilizing cycle before we used it and then left the door open to keep the chamber from becoming musty. Also, for US travelers, there was a second lint filter on the front of the machine that could also be cleaned to improve efficiency and there is a water collection reservoir that needs to be emptied every couple of loads. The WiFi worked wonderfully.

The apartment couldn't be closer to a tube station! That being said, Aldgate East seems to have altered train schedules on the weekend, or they did in October. Both Aldgate and Liverpool are close if you need other train route options. Either way, the kids and grandparents of the group really appreciated that we could ride the tube to our door in the evening if we were tired of walking. There is also a Tesco Express that is right next door. About a 5 min walk south on Commerical St you can also find a Sainsbury's Local. Neither are 'full-service' grocers, but those are hard to find in London and between the 2 we were able to find everything we needed.

This apartment was very relaxing to come home to after a long day of sightseeing! We would definitely stay here again!
