Stayed here for 2 nights. Location for us was great, just off the end of the M1 and free car parking. Couple of minor issues first night - booked 2 family rooms, but one didn't have sofa bed made up, and other had a kettle that previous occupant had made some sort of soup in that stunk the room when we boiled it for tea. Both issues reported to reception next morning (we arrived late at night) and was sorted for our second night, so well done HIE. The beds weren't the best to be honest, hard and no notice that we could have choice of pillows as those supplied weren't particularly comfortable -Premier Inn and new Travelodge beds are much more comfortable. Otherwise the room was fine with aircon and a very neet bathroom where the door doubled to close off the toilet area.and good shower. The staff were good. Tip - if using the tube to get to central London, take the car it's a good mile uphill walk to Finchley Central, but the station has a large car park - only £2 Sat and £1.50 Sunday (£5 weekdays).

There were four of us staying to attend a gig the following day. The room was clean and pleasant if a little small. However, for one night it was adequate. There was a double bed and a sofa bed, but you could only get out of the sofa bed on one side. I felt that the adults in the party were catered for but the children (in our case our 16 year old daughter and her 15 year old friend!) were overlooked. Only one pillow each on the sofa bed, only 2 cups with the tea making facilities - in fact there were only 2 T bags and 2 milk sachets - a little on the mean side. We also felt that as it was a family room perhaps hot chocolate sachets might have been available for younger pallets. We rang down to reception and I have to say that pillows and extra T bags were delivered swiftly. In fact, the staff were very efficient and friendly - apart from one older lady in the breakfast area in the morning, but there's always one. However, here was our biggest problem; the girls tried the sofa bed and were uncomfortable with the fact that they kept rolling together, therefore we, the adults, said that we would sleep in the sofa bed - oh my, what a mistake. I don't think either of us slept a wink - the most uncomfortable bed we have ever slept in (& we go wild camping). The sofa bed was not adequate for anybody, unless perhaps they were 2 under 5s.
Unfortunately, maintenance was required in the shower, the shower head slid down the holder, so the only place it pointed, unless you balanced it very carefully, was at your feet. My husband, managed to balance it, much to his regret, as the safety button on the shower wasn't working either and therefore the water reached super temperatures and he burnt his shoulder! The breakfast area is too small for the size of the hotel which meant there were always people waiting to be seated - I understand that this was an 'express' hotel but the breakfast was poor.

The bar was reasonlably priced and the location of the hotel is superb. Just across the lights is Regents Park Rd with lots of places to eat - Delisserie, a New York deli & grill place was our choice which catered for all of us and was great.

To sum it up, would not stay in an express again. It could be ok if you were staying with no children and you weren't bothered about breakfast. For the difference in money we would stay in a Holiday Inn - in fact we have stayed in the Holiday Inn just down the road in Wembley and the experience was much better than the difference in money would suggest.

I've just returned home after a two day stay here. I never expect much when staying at a Holiday Inn Express but this one is better than average. Not all the reception staff have the gift of being totally welcoming but most did. I was very surprised to be asked to prove my identity even after I had paid in full using a credit card, they should make that clear when making a booking. What if I had arrived without a driving license, what then?

My room was fine and a decent size, only two complaints, the carpet was disgusting and I would not have walked on it barefoot. The other problem was that the television was worse than useless with rubbish reception and only a handful of channels available.
Wi-Fi however, was brilliant through the entire hotel. It even works in the lifts. Thus it was easier to watch TV on the iPad.

Bar prices were reasonable and there is a small menu available for dinner. Just as well because there are no restaurants within easy reach. Beverly that works in the restaurant is a credit to the hotel.

Not the cheapest budget hotel to stay at but there is free parking. A useful tip for directions by car is to put Tillingbourne Gardens into your satnav.

It is a bit expensive for this far out of town but we stayed here to be close to relatives and the buses are very convenient. Most of the staff were exceptional except for one male on the front desk who was almost rude. The breakfast was very good & Beverley was great. Free wifi was okay but the male concierge refused to give us an extra code. The lovely girls fixed this for us the next morning. A good place to stay in this area.

Very busy hotel, but good helpful staff. The room was a little basic, but way above bog standard like the Travelodge. Unfortunately for me there are only showers, no baths, but they are very good showers so no complaints really. I just like to soak in a bath. The bed in our room 104, was very hard, and for us uncomfortable. We were part of a large group staying who attended a function at The Avenue suite attached to the hotel, and we seemed to be unlucky as everyone else said their bed was ok. The room was very clean, and generally pleasant.
Breakfast was included, which is rare, and there was quite a good selection for the price. Also sealed Kosher breakfasts were available which were very good, cheeses, rolls and cake, jam and butter.
All in all a good choice for anyone staying in the area.
