Headed there for lunch on a Monday. This was the first time we tried Ippudo outside Japan. From the extensive menu, we opted for a tonkotsu-based and a aka-dashi (red miso sauce) based dish. Volume and speed of delivery were excellent. The taste was also very authentic. We only felt that the noodles could have been better. Nonetheless, this is as close as it gets to Japanese standards. It also shows in the fact that there were quite a lot of Japanese customers having lunch there; always a good sign when trying to judge a Japanese restaurant outside Japan. One negative aspect: dishes are too expensive even for Tokyo standards. It always astonishes us how eating out in London is more expensive than Tokyo.
