Lovely food but portion size was off putting - way too much food. We may have had a dessert if the portions had been smaller. Unfortunately couldn't eat half the starter and main but what we did have was great. Crostini and bruschetta to start and lamb and fillet steak main

We try to vist here whenever we are in London. The restaurant is consistently good. Lovely authentic Italian food from lovely authentic Italian people. And when i say Italian food I don't mean pizza - this is a real taste of Italy. Service is warm and friendly, food is always fresh and the choice is huge [as are some of the portions!]. Wine is a bit on the expensive side but typical for London. If you love Italian food then do try Da Paolo.

We met for a pre Christmas meal with another couple who love Italian food.
We chose the right place
The restaurant is narrow and was filled with Christmas revellers but it only made the place feel snug and comfortable
There is an extensive menu plus specials of the day
We had proseccos and Negronis to start with. The Negronis were really good - not always the case
We had good bread with oil to share with the drinks
For the starters we had a couple of salads and antipasto misto - very good and a lot there, and the special of grilled sardine - really nice and there were 4 of them - plentiful
Three of us went for the special of wild boar ragut with papardelle - excellent and one had the ravioli funghi - again much appreciated
We finished with a shared panacotta - very good and three different sorbets - again good
We had a bottle of the Primitivo Manduria which was very good and a bottle of the Roero again good
The service was excellent
We had a really good evening here and cannot recommend it highly enough

After a long meeting at nearby offices, we had a table booked for at Da Paolo, we walked into what looked like a small restaurant and were taken downstairs to another dining room the same size.
We had the most amazing relaxed evening, and the food was cooked to perfection. Make sure you have a good appetite as they don't scrimp on portion sizes.
Our waitress was super friendly and the whole atmosphere was lovely.
Will definitely be revisiting.
Thank you Da Paolo for making us so welcome.
