Good for: Business meetings, Romantic, Special Occasion Dining
Dining options: After-hours, Lunch, Dinner, Breakfast, Delivery, Reservations
Neighbourhood: Mayfair
Description: The first UK restaurant to be awarded one, two, and then three Michelin stars, Le Gavroche remains a class apart. Since opening in 1967, this Mayfair bastion of French cuisine has been very much a family affair, and chef-patron Michel Roux Jr continues the tradition today. The elegance of the menu and the ambience is impeccably tailored, while the discreet service has won its own plaudits.

“Street urchin? So that's what it means!”

We went with friends and enjoyed the massively good value set lunch. £52 for well prepared and presented food plus half bottles of wine and water. I finished with a selection of cheeses from the heavily laden trolley and they were all at their peak.

Apart from the guy who took our order (somewhat supercilious) the rest of the large team we're fantastic. Impressed with the greeters, sommelier, et all.

We didn't feel rushed, nor did we feel that we were waiting an unduly lengthy time between courses. Timing was spot on and we left after three and a half hours. Relatively easy to book for lunch (guess dinner would be harder) and from start to finish a great experience.

My parter brought me from Glasgow to Le Gavroche for my 21st birthday.
I was blown away by both the flawless service and the perfection of the food.
I can't find any more to say other than this is one menu that everyone should have the pleasure of tasting and it is a once in a lifetime experience to be had for anyone who enjoys food, good wine and a perfect elegant atmosphere.

I could find no fault.

“Old School but so Good”

We arrived on 16/04/2012 to sample the new ala carte menu.
The front of house welcome is faultless. Its like watching a Ballet in progress my wifes' description. To me it was like watching Barca play. Special praise for the young Lady Sommelier but she is trained buy one of the best Sommeliers in London.
Once again the food was of an excellent standard but I do feel there is just something missing. Maybe missing the Maitres hands on feel. We will be back because there is no where else in London that can come close to the atmosphere its like visiting Hallowed ground.

Even better than its Michelin rating indicates. We lunched here November and enjoyed every course, without any reason for complaint or disappointment, and even the prices were excellent. Monsieur Roux was delightful and my wife even found herself flirting! So we came back for dinner in December and the place excelled itself. Even with full tables, service exemplary, quality exceptional, presentation beautiful!
