Gave Bahn Mi Town a try via take away. The Bahm Mi (BBQ pork) was very good in my view with the baguette suitably soft/spongy and a very nice filling. My wife and I also ordered Pho (chicken and rare beef)...we found both to be less successful. We both found the broth to be a bit light/thin on flavour. Further there were no raw veges/herbs provided (bean sprouts, mint, etc) to be added immediately before eating...rather they seem to have been added at the restaurant. We felt both flaws detracted from the Pho dishes.
We started with prawn and chicken summer rolls which were very tasty but needed a bit better rice paper rolling technique employed (not very tight or even).
Having just come back from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, we were hoping Ban Mih Town would come close to the amazing local food we had there, sadly there was a gap.
All in all, pretty good and not far off from being very good. Want to give them a try again soon eating in at the restaurant and trying some other dishes like Bahn Hue, spring rolls or Vietnamese pancake (bahn xeo) before moving on.
