Stayed a nearby Premier Inn Marton Rd fully booked. Glad it was just one night and clearly the Blue Bell needs an adjustment in its approach as Hotel when all considered. Yes it was fairly cheap but it lacks any real quality the breakfast room being an example of what an old church hall might have been like. Food was ok at breakfast but I really liked the industrial scale prob 10 litre tea pot sitting on its warmer. Reception averaged and general areas of hotel sadly in need of modernisation. Lift doors have graffiti scraped into paint, walls are very beige. The rooms are dark and really not able to have 2 walking around. Lighting is inadequate. Bathrooms actually Fair air best of the room as bright and quite large.
In all, not worth a revisit and fine for one night but seems to be an afterthought tagged onto the back of a large pub. Probably wouldn’t want to eat in the public part based on breakfast experience.More
