This restaurant was chosen by friends of ours. Our first visit to Norwich ans so our first restaurant too.We were immediately made to feel at home...very friendly and attentive staff. As we hadnt seen our friends for 20yrs we had a lot of catching up to do and took a while to read the menu and choose our items. The staff waited patiently for us without any pressure.
The Cock a leekie pie and burgers from the bar menu were delicious. For starters I would also recommend the mackerel pate or else the mussels.Great selection of wines too.A great evening...would definitely visit again when in Norwich.

Good for lunch when in the city, after hard morning shopping. Food is great, atmosphere can be bubbly.

We were very impressed by The Last Bistro. Friendly staff, an interesting choice of good value food and a pleasant atmosphere. Quite close to the city centre, just over the river. Worth finding.

We were seated in a nice quiet room across from the main bar. It was great for a good discussion about the book. The food was very slow coming, so we were quite hungry by the time it arrived I ordered duck breast, salt baked celariac, pumpkin, and hash brown potatoes. This restaurant has such a great reputation and we so looked forward to this lovely treat. Sadly I was disappointed in my meal. The duck had beutifully rendered fat and skin, but was oversalted and the breast was very overdone and tough. The celariac was lovely inside, but overdone one the grill, pumpkin was nice, and hash browns were very overdone and dry on the outside. It was almost like the plate had sat under a light for far too long. Sadly, I was disappointed. Others were hit and miss.
