Quality Fish & Chips in the only place that uses vegetable oil. Totally non-greasy and so well presented. The fish tasted fresh and full of flavour. Staff were very helpful and courteous.

We couldn't decide where to eat in Whitby and we stumbled upon this place just over the bridge. Our order was taken quite quickly and only had a short wait for the food. We ordered a medium fish and a large fish... and both were huge!! The fish and the chips were delicious. Cod, chips and drink for less than £9, which is really cheap for Whitby. We went back again the next night! Comfortable, quiet atmosphere with great food at a good price. Definitely recommend.

Went here because they are the only chippy in Whitby that cook in vegetable oil - the others use beef dripping. The chips were gorgeous - really tasty, crispy and soft in the middle and not at all greasy. Great price and great portion size. Happy, friendly staff too. Highly recommend - the best chippy chips I've tasted in a long time.

Went in with the girl. seen, seated served all in really good time! Not too keen but not awkwardly long.

She had fish and chips (medium)
I had the Ultimate Combo

Food was genuinely delicious; light batter, that wasnt too oily. Good helpings of everything in the UC leaving no stone unturned from the menu. All seemed fresh and some degree of care went into preparing it all.

Only down side was the plate was simply not big enough. Haha

No complaints about the wine either, all bottled by the glass, chilled. Its what u want.

If your after somewhere pretentious, then this isnt your place. Its great for families and pretty much everyone who is after a relaxed atmosphere and great food.

We spent a day out in Whitby sightseeing and after having visited the Abbey, we decided we wanted to stop for some fish and chips. Having the dog with us, we looked up dog friendly places to eat and chose this place. I'm very glad we did. After first checking with the host that they did indeed allow dogs, we asked for a table for four people and a dog. They escorted us to a quieter corner of the restaurant where we could dine with our Newfoundland and not be disturbed. We ordrred three fish and chips and an order of scampi and chips. The fish was cooked to to perfection with the batter a crisp golden and the fish inside nice and flaky. My scampi was presented in a basket and my chips in a metal cup lined with paper, and was also cooked perfectly. Each meal came with mushy peas, which were delicious and not at all too dry (a problem I've encountered at some place)We cleaned out plates and found ourselves too full for dessert. Three of us had milk shakes while my husband had a soft drink. The milk shakes were well made, but strangely they were nearly room temperature despite being made with ice cream. The prices were decent and over all, we were well satisfied with the outing as was our dog as he was able to relax under the table without curious children approaching. The dog also enjoyed the chips my kids and husband snuck him under the table, so an extra paws up from him.
