I used the post code of YO22 5JD to get to the car park and didn’t have any trouble finding it or the cafe or the amazing “Front Room at Falling Foss.” The Front Room is filled with arts from very talented local women. Jewellery, paintings, prints, photos, stained glass, knits and more. Well worth a visit.

The cafe is outside. There is lots of seating, and a small undercover area too. There is a small climbing frame and slide for the kids. The cafe food is delicious. I had a bacon butty (roll), which was just the job before exploring the wood. The woods can get very muddy when the weather has been bad so dress appropriately. Had an hour exploring in a circular route and back to the cafe where I had a tea served in a beautiful teapot and a very yummy Almond & Blackcurrent cake. A peaceful place to enjoy my brew and book but also a fun place for the kids, groups and walkers. Dogs welcome too. The Luxuary Nachos looked totally fabulous but being on my own I couldn’t have managed it. Will definitely come back to this place time and again.

No signs.
If you want to visit a visitor attraction it is common sense to sign post the actual attraction for visitors.
There is one sign in the car park that we followed but when coming to a bridge with 3 options to walk there was nothing.
With young children and mist rolling in this is dangerous and ridiculous.
Even when you get to the waterfall it is guess work as you again are presented with various options to walk and no sign posts.
Only visit with a map. If you can find one that is.
I won’t be coming back.

We were five, muddy walkers, who felt welcomed at this outdoor cafe in the beautiful woody glen. There was shelter in case of rain, but we didn't need this. The owner was very friendly and encouraging.
There is an indoor gift shop, which we avoided due to muddy boots and large rucksacks, but it looked tempting...

We visited with the parents while on holiday in Whitby. Loved the waterfall. The cafe was lovely. Had tea and cake. They look rather well considering the rain- a bit muddy in places but able to get down easily. I would not recommend anyone with mobility issues visiting due to the step hill.

Not what you expect in the middle of a woodland. Nice cafe (not so good on a wet windy day as you have to sit outside) reasonably priced. Good walks around through woods but very muddy (don’t take your best white trainers)
