Visited for lunch on Monday 5th August with my parents. We managed to get a table as soon as we arrived and the table was next to the window upstairs with a lovely view of the harbour. The food was amazing the cod and chips was delicious fish so fresh, pleased we only ordered the small as that was more than enough. My step dad had scampi which he really enjoyed. The service was excellent considering it was very busy. We are so pleased that we chose to eat here, and we highly recommend it.

We last visited the Magpie back in February 2017 and at the end of the review I said we probable wouldn't rush back.

Another weekend visit - a lot has happened since 2017 so in we went!

And we were so glad that we did. We really enjoyed our meal - everything was absolutely spot on - service, the food, atmosphere and a really great bottle of wine too.

Not a lot else to say really - it was fantastic.

Located next to the harbour and a short walk up to the cliff tops to sit on a bench and enjoy them looking across at the abbey.
Usually very busy but we went at 5:45pm on Friday and there was no queue!

Great experience, traditional Whitby fish and chips, perfect portions and really tasty, always return here.

We had a fantastic meal here - staff lovely too.

Only slight issue for us, was access with a pushchair and then being asked to fold it down when we arrived. I get they don’t have much space but it’s worth noting if you aren’t happy for your baby to be ok a provided bouncer.
