4 nights short break at this hotel. Very friendly staff and everything that you could expect from a good budget hotel. Cleanliness good, all requests (extra tea coffee etc) very quickly dealt with by attentive staff. Location great for visiting York and the North Yorkshire moors area.

Stayed for an overnight when visiting Whitby & York and it was great. Check in was quick & the room was exactly what we needed. It was basic but spotlessly clean. The bed was comfortable & we had a great nights sleep. There are tea and coffee making facilities in the room. Breakfast was adequate & set us up for the day. Staff were great & so friendly. The hotel is just off of the A64 so ideal for York city & the Designer Outlet. I definitely wouldn't hesitate in booking here again.

I stayed here while on business for 3 days this week. The room was really nice with plenty of space. The bed was made and fresh towels every morning. The shower is amazing!! A real power shower that gets hot and stays hot. The staff are all very friendly and welcoming and the breakfast was delightful. I will most definitely be booking in here next time I visit York.

Just spent 12 days visiting family and for four of them we stayed at the Holiday Inn Express.
We were welcomed by Chris Mitchell, the manageress. She is a star! Nothing was too much trouble. It didn't matter what we asked for, she made sure it was done.
The room was clean, the bed and pillows were really comfortable.
There was a good variety for breakfast Every thing was spotless and well set out.. Andrea and the team worked really hard making sure both the hot and cold food was always topped up no matter how many people were there.
Free wifi every where but it was a bit hit and miss in our room.
The hotel is minutes from two shopping centres. and a park and ride bus service into the city centre. It costs £ 2.60 each (return ) and drops you off in the centre of the York.
The coast is about 40 minutes drive.away.
There is a Toby Grill carvery next door.

Room Tip: Room 240. No one either side of you. No road noise and no tv noise. It is on the first floor though and there is not a lift.

A really good stop for our trip to North Yorkshire. I think the hotel has just been renovated. Includes breakfast too! Good location for the city and the new Monks way shopping centre and John Lewis. Plenty of places to eat nearby too. Recommend for a simple place to stay.
