Really interesting visit with informative guides. Decorated for Christmas with tables laid for the feast when I visited. Amazing ceilings, furniture & paintings.

We have passed this place many times on previous visits but it never seemed to be open. This time we got it right and was well worth it. Decorated for Christmas the house was lovely and with the friendly and knowledgable guides it was a very pleasant experience. They supply lockers for your bags if you don't want to lug them around and a gift shop with some very nice things

A wonderful warm and welcoming townhouse situated just a few hundred yards from the Castle Museum. The building which was once a cinema has been superbly renovated, most of the furniture on display has come from the home of one the Terry's chocolate family, We were especially lucky in that a beautiful desk with hidden drawers was open. The staff were very friendly and helpful, there are also printed information sheets available to read. The Christmas decorations have been tastefully displayed especially the dining table where sugar craft is exhibited.

We stumbled on this and decided to pop in. It’s really well presented and interesting. It’s great that it has been saved and renovated.

There’s a lot of interesting paintings and furniture.

The entrance fee might seem a bit expensive to some.

The guides in each room are enthusiastic; maybe a bit too enthusiastic if I’m honest. I’d have preferred to have been left alone to enjoy each room, but the guides seemed determined.

I’d recommend this place, but I think the guides should take a more softly softly approach.

A really lovely Georgian town house with numerous rooms filled with good to excellent Georgian furniture and some wonderful 17th and 18th century clocks. The room guides are very knowledgeable and extremely helpful and enthusiastic. The plasterwork on the ceilings and some walls is also very special. Well worth a visit and very near the bus stop from the park and ride which is cheapened easy. Strongly recommended.
