Outstanding gardens and views and entrance to the House. Many rooms very interesting, and staff very helpful, Some of the paintings not of the highest quality, perhaps. Shuttle transporter not working . Garden centre excellent, farmhouse shop very pricey. Excellent on a dry day. Bus stop at entrance

Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. The grounds are outstanding and on a nice day you have plenty to explore. Unfortunately the Atlas fountain was not working on the day we visited. Sadly the House itself was a bit of a let down. i had visited about 20 years ago and there was much more access to galleries and entrance was via the main steps and doors so you got the full impact of the decoration rather than a walk in from the side rooms. Obviously this is to save on the wear on the steps and doors until they can be restored. Still not too bad value for monry.

I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve visited Castle Howard over the years. The house, the grounds and the views keep drawing me back. The guides are very knowledgeable and entertaining. The history of the house is fascinating. Plenty of parking. Two tea rooms, lots to do and see. When in Yorkshire, add this to your visit list
