Must be one of the oldest looking Travelodge's in the UK. It may have had a lick of paint but desperately needs modernising. It looks like a museum exhibit to show what the earliest lodges looked like. Stayed two nights and only saw one member of staff (who gave me my key) Went in and out several times and never saw anyone at the reception desk. Not secure either as anyone could enter and wander round the hotel floors. Room was dated and was very cold on the first day. I turned the archaic heater on to get some heat into the room. I didn't notice the smell at first but on waking it was like I had been in a smokers room all night - weird? Maybe handy for the football/rugby ground, but I wouldn't choose to stay here again.
