Stayed here for one night with my boyfriend. Everything was lovely - the room was clean and comfy, as was the bathroom. However, everything changed at 3:30am when the fire alarm was set off. An extremely loud and piercing alarm sounded but no lights came on, not even an emergency light. I can’t explain how terrifying it was to be in the pitch black with this alarm sounding! Once leaving the room and going down we found out it was a false alarm so we could return to our rooms. This was good news, however, we were so traumatised that we couldn’t get back to sleep properly for 3 hours. Therefore our ‘premier’ nights sleep turned out to be a lot of stress and not a lot of sleep.
I understand it is not the hotels fault that someone set the alarm off. Although, I do believe there should be some form of light in each room that when the alarm comes on the light does too. This will erase the chance of you being plummeted into darkness and a piercing noise - as it is terrifying.
