“A great place to stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 April 2012

Once again we had a lovely stay at Bolehill Farm. The location is excellent for visiting Bakewell, Chatsworth and loads of other places, and the cottages themselves are very comfortable and well equipped if you want to put your feet up at the end of the day. Chris and Shirley are very welcoming as everyone has noted. We'll be back again!

Room Tip: Lathkill is recommended if you have young children as it opens onto the garden/play area so it is ea...

This was our second visit to Bole Hill and we had a lovely weekend. Shirley & Chris were as welcoming and kind as on our first visit. The cottage was lovely and we began to feel relaxed and mellow in no time. We are regular self-caterers and we have been so impressed at the thought and standard of the cottages. It is lovely to be able to take our dogs with us, the setting is delightful and we have had two fantastic breaks. I can't wait to get a third booked.

We have just had the most perfect stay at Bolehill Farm Cottages, nothing was too much trouble for Shirley & Chris. The cottages are first class, very clean and want for nothing. The position just outside Bakewell was just right for us, good cycling tracks, excellent walks from the cottage, and very central for the whole of the Peak District. We would not have a moments hesitation in recommending anyone to stay here, it completly made our holiday.

Room Tip: All the cottages are of excellent standard, and Shirley is always at hand to give any advise

We were enormously impressed with both the exterior and interior of these charming cottages. An immense amount of thought and care has gone into each of the farm building conversions and the same amount of thought and care has gone into equipping each one. We are long-standing self-caterers and have never come across such a high standard of consideration and attention to detail - everything you could possibly need is provided. We stayed in the smallest cottage, Honeysuckle, where the use of space was ingenious and quite brilliant and it was immensely comfortable. There are delightful outside seating areas overlooking the farmyard-now-courtyard, beautifully maintained and planted, and the staggeringly beautiful countryside. And it is within very easy striking distance of so many fabulous places to visit. Chris and Shirley are extremely efficient, helpful and friendly, but never intrusive, and their two collies are an utter delight. This was our first visit but it won't be our last and we would recommend it wholeheartedly.

Room Tip: We saw several of the other cottages prior to departure and all are great - just depends how many of...

We wouldn't be frequent visitors to these excellent cottages if they didn't hit high standards time and time again. Shirley and Chris go out of their way to provide first class facilities and it is this incredible personal touch which makes all the difference. We visit out of main season, and the Peaks can be pretty "raw" in the winter, but the cottages are cosy, warm and comfortable; just the job after a day out. Situation is excellent - sitting as they do up the hill from Bakewell with all its delightful country market-town facilities.
The perfect Peak District base.

We have had yet another lovely holiday at Bolehill Farm, where Chris, Shirley, Blue and Smudge always give a warm friendly welcome! The cottage are second to none (we have now stayed in 5 of the cottages) and have everything you need for a relaxing holiday.
We started to visit Bolehill when it was just the two of us and it was perfect. We now have a little girl (20 months) and the venue is still perfect. All of the other guests are friendly and a testament to the quality of service received is that a lot of people are previous visitors to Bolehill.
We already have our next holiday booked there and can't wait to get back.

This is about the sixth time we have stayed at Bolehill and it was another great break. It is like coming home. The cottages are well appointed and Shirley and Chris (the owners) are very welcoming and informative about local attractions. We usually stay in Derwent as we need ground floor accommodation but have also stayed in Shippon and Magpie. Great views from the grounds over Derbyshire and really central for all of the tourist bits and outdoor activities. The local cows add to the entertainment...
