Stayed here one night on our driving holiday through the Cotswolds. It's right on the High St in Burford so very convenient and also has a great sense of history complete with sloping ceilings and creaking floors!

We were in the Queen Anne room which was generously sized. Didn't have dinner here but thought the breakfast absolutely excellent and good value - fantastic spread of cold items like fruit, pastries, cereal, sticky muesli and also hot items cooked to order.

Beware very limited parking onsite so you may have to find a spot on the high st yourself - the town can get quite busy depending on time of day.

Happily recommend!

As a dog owner it's wonderful when our dog is welcomed with the same enthusiasm and courtesy as we were! Few hotel managers would take time to reach down, offer treats and provide the option for us to enjoy dinner and breakfast with our dog in a comfortable area adjacent to the main restaurant. Indeed, all the staff were 'dog friendly' and made a big fuss of our little Wesiie.
Perhaps our room in the courtyard was 95% in terms of housekeeping but the hospitality was 100%
Highly recommend to dog owners

Excellent weekend - room was first class (suggest standard double as opposed to small double), well equipped furniture wise and a very comfy bed - the quality of food was exceptional (evening meal a bit more pricey than some places but well worth the extra) - staff were all very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend a visit.

Room Tip: Standard double was excellent - small double originally offered to our friends was a bit too small and was changed.

The room was comfortable and well appointed. Dinner was rather disappointing - ox cheek proved to be too large a portion but the starter (scallops) was surprisingly good. Breakfast the following morning offered a varied and interesting menu and the service was first rate throughout.

Room Tip: Our room was behind the hotel and very quiet.

All the staff were friendly hard working, professional and welcoming. Our room was expensive for what it offered, and in need of some TLC and updating and whilst superficially clean would have benefitted from a good deep clean around those harder to reach areas etc. Good to see complimentary water in the room and nice smelling toiletries but otherwise very average. Two bad nights sleep due to the heat of the room, despite opening windows where we could. The bar area has been updated, it looks and feels more like a coffee shop, whilst the rear is very traditional so the hotel lacks a coherent identity. The most redeeming feature is the breakfast, which had really good choices, particularly with the cold table. The full English is the best bet with good quality sausages and bacon, the other choices we tried were less successful e.g. the smoked haddock and the scrambled egg and smoked salmon. I think there are probably better choices in Burford for around the same price - it's an expensive area to stay.

Hello,
Many thanks for taking the time to review your stay at the Bull and we're sorry not everything lived up to your - and our - high expectations.
A number of our rooms are due for an upgrade and we are constantly striving to make the hotel as comfortable as it can be throughout, despite some of the historic 'challenges' it presents.
We very much hope that you will consider staying with us again.
Kind regards,
The management, Bull at Burford
