Wasabi always has a great selection of affordable sushi. I have bought a variety of sushi for our family to enjoy and Wasabi always surprisingly delicious and also very affordable. I have also bought the bento meal and our favorite is the katsu chicken. It is very scrumptious. I always buy a few take away from Wasabi and it has not disappoint me.

This Japanese style restaurant/takeaway opened in Oxford over the Christmas/New Year period 2016/2017.

As I was passing, with my Daughter, and I like sushi, we decided to give it a try. 2PM on a Saturday afternoon was probably a bad time. The area where customers select the sushi or bento boxes was hectic and I was jostled by other customers eager to make their choice and be on their way.

My Daughter wanted hot food so we chose from the hot food cabinet, which was less busy. She had Chicken Katsu Curry Bento. I had Sweet Chilli Chicken Bento.

The total cost of both dishes was £12.68p. We didn't have drinks.

The staff are pleasant and eager to please. The whole premises appeared clean and tidy. There did seem to be a lack of suitable receptacles to dispose of waste food or packaging. This tends to force customers to abandoned their detritus on the tables.

If you wish to 'eat in' seating is at shared tables. Seating is in short supply and we had to wait for neighbouring seats to become vacant.

In both cases we felt that the food was too spicy. It was labelled as mild but I like spicy food and thought that it should have had a higher spice rating.

I might return to sample the takeaway sushi but I don't think that we'll be trying the hot food again. No criticism of the restaurant – just not to our taste.

Dear Customer,

Thank you for your review, I, glad you decided to give us a try just after we opened back in January, Sorry you found the hot food a bit too spicy for your taste but i agree both dishes have a little kick of spice to them. I hope you have returned and have seen that we now have our upstairs seating area open and we now have more receptacles around the unit to make sure things are kept clean & tidy at all times. Again thank you for your review and hope to see you and your daughter again in the near future.

Wanted a quick meal before the theatre so went to Wasabi, the food was good (Chicken Curry) but they had sold out of many of the dishes.

Popped in to Wasabi, as Sasi Thai in the Covered Market was ridiculously busy. I went for the hot spicy chicken bento with noodles. It was delicious. I would heartily recommend it and will certainly revisit.
