We arrived early, ready to leave our case but the room was ready. It is hard to remember a hotel that was so good in every aspect. Polite and helpful staff and plenty of them. The room was large and comfortable.
The meal was outstanding, among the best that I have had in a hotel restaurant, anywhere. We ate at the Grill, having our complimentary glass of Champagne at the bar.
My first course was a Rabbit and Bacon Terrine with Beer Chutney and great bread.
My main was Fillet of Hake with a Potato Terrine and Mussel and Parsley Sauce.
Both courses were excellent. A fantastic piece of Hake cooked perfectly.
We drunk a bottle of German Pinot Noir, Sparburgunder which was as good as the food, and great service.
The breakfast was also excellent.

We stayed at the Old Parsonage this past weekend and it was everything we could have asked for. Kind and attentive staff, comfortable rooms, warm and inviting atmosphere, perfect location, and an excellent restaurant on site. It is within easy walking distance to so many great sites, restaurants, shops, and pubs in town. We look forward to a return trip very soon. Cheers to the group that runs this wonderful hotel.

Stunning building in a central Oxford location. Beautiful log burner in the delightful reception area/bar. All the staff were brilliant, attentive and couldn't do enough to ensure our stay was perfect. The room was up steep stairs but a member of staff carried our heavy bags for us. The room was stunning and equipped with everything you could want including a beautiful bathroom with generously sized shower and bath. The single beds were very comfortable with quality bed linen and the décor in general was very nice. We had a fabulous dinner at the Old Parsonage and the food was exceptional as was the collection of portrait art that adorned every wall. Again the service was perfect without being overbearing. Breakfast produced yet another
feast and the Eggs Royal is probably the best I have ever had. One last thing they make the best Aperol Spritz going ;¬)

Room tip: We stayed in the older part of the hotel which I believe has more character than the newer part.

We stayed here for 3 nights, in the most enchanting room 28, high in the eves. The building is very old so the doorways to the bathroom and closet are low which means that taller people must take care. The bathroom had a tub and shower with heated floors, the towels were large and thick, the bed very comfortable. We loved our room and The Old Parsonage will be our “go to” hotel next time we are in Oxford.
We ate at both the restaurant here and the sister restaurant in the Old Bank Inn. We enjoyed our meals in both locations and would recommend either.

This is a beautiful property that offers a very high level of service. That said, I'm not sure it's the place for me - we could only afford the smallest room which has only a double bed which was inadequate for my husband and I who are both quite tall. Also, there is no reception area or other common area so there's no nice place to sit and read the paper and you have to keep walking through the restaurant. I'd read about this in the reviews, but it bothered me more than I expected. Still, for someone who can afford a big room and to eat in the restaurant, I'm sure it would be lovely. Also, as some have pointed out, you don't get the amenities they offer for direct booking - they are all subject to availability and apparently none were available when I was there - so you might as well book through another site if you get a better deal.

Thank you so much for taking the time to write your review.

We are glad you were pleased with our service and thank you for your 4 stars review, however, we are sorry to hear you wouldn't be sure to come back at The Old Parsonage for your future stay.

Our hotel has different rooms categories from the classic double to junior suite and suites, that are larger and more spacious providing king size bed.

We do have a lovely library available all day for our hotel guest, that is a very quiet area where you can read books, enjoy or drink or simply relax.

Regarding the direct perks, we always do our best to provide early check in, late check out or complimentary upgrade, but these are subject to availability, depending on the hotel occupancy. We offer as well reserved complimentary parking, discounted entry fees to Oxfordshire attractions (Blenheim Palace, Ashmolean Museum, Bicester Village, Oxford Playhouse). The £20.00 direct booking credit towards meals is always available.

Please feel free to contact me directly if you wish to discuss further and I will be more than happy to do it.

All the best, Lisa
