Stayed for a 2 night break. We were upgraded on arrival. Nice that we had a fridge in the room which was very handy. Very clean. 30 minutes walk into town. bus stop right outside hotel so very good location. Plenty of convenience stores and some nice restaurants very close by. Buffet breakfast which my husband liked but it wasn’t entirely for me. Excellent parking on site. Room very warm but a large fan was available which we had on all the time. No mirror provided on the desk/dressing table which made drying hair and getting ready quite difficult for me - A strange looking hairdryer was attached to the wall in the bathroom but it wasn’t for me and I like to use my own. Fab shower but didn’t like the frosted glass bathroom door which had a slight gap to the wall so was aware of husband walking past or making a cuppa.
Felt a little overpriced - did expect more!

Stayed for a 2 night mini break. Beautifully decorated hotel, beautiful garden. Breakfast selection was lovely and plenty of it. So nice to get a decent size pot of tea at the table. Twin Room was a little tight for space and not overly keen on the frosted glass bathroom door, which had quite a large gap between door and frame.on the plus side, shower was lush, good size, lovely and hot. Loved the fact that the bath towels were super large. Comfy bed ( just a bit low, but excellent value and will def stay here again

I would love to keep this little gem a secret, but they deserve a recommendation. There are more affordable accommodations in Oxford, and certainly more costly. The Galaxie however, gives far more for your money than most. Very welcoming from the start, with private parking. Charming interior, larger than it looks from the outside, and very clean and well appointed. The room was beautiful. Extremely clean, bright, and well thought out. I was impressed. The bath was spotless, spacious, and modern. Breakfast in the large and well laid out dining room was well done, with something for just about anyone. Outside in the back is a very charming garden area. Perfect for a drink and conversation, or just a bit of quiet in the evening, maybe a cup and fresh air in the morning. Beautiful. Highly recommended. I hope to return soon.

Modern hotel in a quiet neighborhood within short, easy bus ride to the city centre. A little to far for walking to the city. The breakfast was included and was quite nice. The breakfast room was bright and sunny and had an open wall to an outdoor terrace which was a lovely place to sit and relax. I visited Oxford during a heat wave, and the hotel has no A/C. I could not leave the window open as my room was facing the street, which was very noisy at all hours. The room did have a small fan which was not functioning properly. I was told it couldn't be replaced and there were no other rooms by the desk attendant. She was unsympathetic. Room could have been cleaner as there were mop marks on the tile floor, crumpled stained blanket in the closet, and stains on the furniture. I feel like it was a bit over priced for the service and room that I received.

Room Tip: Third floor facing the street is not good if really hot outside.

we had one night here in July to visit and exhibition at the Bodleian library .
very convenient location with a bus stop outside .A good breakfast as well .
One downside because of the very hot weather we needed the windows open and as we had a room at the front the traffic noise was very noticeable ,but acceptable with the windows closed
