This trip was a surprise from my partner and what a lovely surprise it was. We stayed on Laila Mai and she didn't disappoint. The boat was very clean and the bed was so comfortable we had the best nights sleep. The location is peaceful yet so close to the city centre. There is a nice cafe a few yards away, where we had breakfast. All in all it was a relaxing, very cosy night away. We will definitely go back.

Stayed for one night at Victoria Quays on the houseboat Laila Mai and really enjoyed the experience, wished we could've stayed longer.

Very comfortable, relaxing and a great quiet location for walking into Sheffield town centre.

Although it is self catering we decided to eat out and just snack onboard. Had a lovely cooked breakfast at a local Quays cafe.

We will definitely stay again but try and stay longer and visit the town centre more.

My colleague and I stayed here on a business trip to Sheffield. The experience lived up to our expectations. The boat is on a quay just 5 minutes walk from the centre. Parking was right by the boat. The boat was well equipped. We ate out for dinner but cooked breakfast. There was plenty of seating outside if only the weather was warmer. Instead we had a comfortable night watching television. Despite being close to centre once on the boat it is very quiet. We had a great nights sleep and it was lovely to wake to water lapping and views of the canal. Met the owner and his daughter who were really helpful. Definitely will return.

Another tick on my list of different places to stay.Lovely Mark the proprietor had to guide us through the one way system being strangers we got stuck on the James Dooley Way.I punched in the code which lifted the barrier we drive over the cobbles and could park right by the boat we were on Lillae Mae and moored next to her was Millie Mae.We unzipped the plastic cover there was a tables and chairs on deck had the weather been warmer this would have been a great place to enjoy breakfast.Into the cabin a wow from me and an ouch from hubby as he hit his head .The light and heating. were on giving us a warm welcome.Tea and coffee facilities lovely biscuits.quite a few folks strolled past and three ducks swam up to greet us.The double cabin bed already made up,a further double could be made up in the dining area and also two bunk beds.Self contained hooked up to electricity water in the on board tanks we had lovely hot showers. Both continental and full English breakfast could be ordered would have to cook the full English hell I am on holiday too.Good nearby cafe opened at 7.30am and the Hilton hotel nearby with discounted use of health centre. We had walked to the Crucible sauntering back with a KFC followed by an excellant nights sleep and were sad to leave. The houseboat is moored and cannot be sailed down the canal,Ah that's another to be ticked off my list, presumably then have to be powered by a noisy generator. We will definitely stay again when we return to explore Sheffield or visit the theatre again.

Room Tip: Choose which boat this is more than room , it's all the boat.

Wow fantastic was going to a concert at Sheffield Arena and decided to stay over, after looking what was available on the internet came across the houseboats. Booked it for 2 nights as an experience for my partner who loves boats. Absolutely brilliant, everything that we needed, very clean, just like home from home. 2 nights are not enough did not want to go home. Ordered a breakfast from the café across from the boat which was delivered exactly on time, hot, filling and delicious with a cup of tea. 5 minutes from the town centre that we took full advantage of especially due to the competitive drink prices. We will certainly be returning.
