The hotel itself isn’t clean, it’s run down and seems to big for them to manage. Just walking around you can see it’s outdated in places.
The massage therapists are lovely and do great massages. It’s a shame about the spa area. They clean it often- we saw them clean it- but that’s not the issue.... things are broken and scruffy. Pool lights broken- visible rust- there is a whole on the side of the pool from I assume a filter that is no longer there? Unsure. All I know is this place needs major work to even associate itself with Hilton I find really
Surprising. In the toilet in the spa and also the ones near the bar, so two different toilets there was a black mound at the back of the bowl- indicating there is only surface cleaning happening.
Food takes ages to be cooked and brought to you... I actually got my main and then had two wait for my chips to come because ‘they weren’t ready yet’ which blew my mind why the food had been brought out if it wasn’t ready? Food Luke warm and no where near worth the money. This hotel would be better not being associated with the hotel, listing its self with 2-3 stars- and not describing themselves as luxury, because it isn’t. Gives people high expectations but this place is just scruffy- I have no idea why the have built the new part- they should
Of spend that money improving the existing or maybe sorting out the pool.

I stayed here whilst on business.

The staff are very friendly and helpful and the location is good.

The hotel itself is looking a bit tired on the inside and it is a shame as this has the potential to be a real winner - carpets are worn and frayed and the rooms are looking like they would benefit from a revamp and fresh coat of paint.

As a venue for business or large events it is an ideal location but I would not use this hotel as a base for holidays or romantic trips.

I would stay here again if I was in the area on business.

We just stayed here for one evening whilst going to a restaurant nearby. The rooms were clean and very spacious. We didn’t try the food in the hotel as we had reservations elsewhere but the free cookies on arrival was a lovely gesture. We loved the late 12pm check out. Will definitely stay here again if we’re in the area.

The local charm starts with check in. Friendly and attentive reception staff. Some of the rooms are older but spacious and comfortable. There are some brand new rooms but sadly they don’t have opening windows. The pool area is great and generally well kept. Food is what surprised me most. As a regular in branded hotels it invariably feels like the menu is a direct lift from a frozen food suppliers catalogue - not here Yorkshire pie was on the menu in addition to a local craft ale from Thornbridge Brewery. The waiting staff were keen to point out in breakfast it was Yorkshire tea and the oh so lovely Longley Farm (Yorkshire) yoghurts. Keep up the good work folks despite one or two miserable reviews
