Stayed 2 nights at this hotel for a visit to the Crucible for the Snooker Final. Hotel was adequate for the money. Room was very clean and had all that you wanted for a stay i.e. Hair Dryer and Kettle and a couple of tubes of shower gel and handwashing gel. Towels were lovely and clean and there were enough for us two. We found the bed was quite comfortable for us. TV in room was ok. They also have an ironing room, so if your clothes are a bit creased from the suitcase this is ideal. This hotel is central for all the shops. The Crucible is a 10 minute walk away. Although it states that online check in is quicker, this isn't so......... On arrival we had to fill in a form exactly the same as the one online, so don't bother to check in online!!! All in all we were very satisfied with the hotel and it's staff and would recommend it as a good budget hotel.

Hotel was about 10 minute walk to the Crucible. Room was an OK size, would have preferred a bit bigger for a two week stay. No complaints with the staff or the cleanliness of the hotel. Had one meal which was very nice. Would stay again

Stayed at the hotel for 3 nights whilst in Sheffield for the Snooker. On arriving we were very surprised by the state of the place - everything covered in dust sheets. We were informed that there is building work going on and the place is being refurbished. When I mentioned to the receptionist that it would have been nice to receive an e-mail warning us I was told they were only sending e-mails to those who would be affected by noise.
The rooms are nicely decorated but a bit cosy. The bathroom was very clean. The towels are on the small side and we asked for extra. I requested decaf tea and coffee in the room and this was provided with no problems. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is in walking distance of the town centre. Breakfast is currently being served in a small area by reception. It is good value.
Overall it was good for a budget hotel.

Check in was OK, fast and efficient, reception staff explained that building work was in progress. Room was nice enough for price, newly refurbished and clean. TV was poor, just the basic channels with no red button and no Eurosport channels. WiFi was good.
No bar as listed, the bar is one small counter in reception, no restaurant either, again this is a few tables in front of reception desk in front of main entrance. We thought about eating there but it was always empty and exposed to the full activities of main entrance and reception, so not very inviting. Avoid breakfast, not worth paying for, self service from plastic containers, some with broken lids, tasteless scrambled eggs; coffee and orange juice were average. Would possibly stay again, but will shop around first and look for better value.

Thank you for choosing to stay with us during the Snooker World Championships and for posting this review however in respect your specific comments the hotel has always had a bar, (see website pictures) and though our ground floor improvements were ongoing our new 4 metre bar was completed, together with the new reception islands. In respect of the breakfast hotplate, the food is presented in hot ceramic dishes covered in plastic lids, they are not cracked nor broken.
The refurbished and upgraded bedrooms have new flat screen televisions and the system has 84 channels.
We hope that we can welcome you back in the future.
Kind regards
Diane
