Looking for a pub for lunch we picked one we thought would suit us with real ales and unpretentious food. A short uphill walk away from the bridge we found the Horse and Jockey. We hadn't booked, but the polite girl behind the counter offered us a table and served us with some excellently kept beer. We both opted for the Roast Pork which was a good sized portion with plenty of vegetables and arrived in a reasonable time. The pub itself is a good honest building. Not overdone in trendy Farrow & Ball, just showing it's charm. Excellent pub!!
