We wanted to pay for an early check in but were told no rooms ready as they were busy the night before, we found this a bit odd? Once in room was good with great views over Ludlow.
Go for first floor and facing rear as the A49 is a busy road.

Taking safety measures
We had a lovely stay here recently (2 nights). The room we stayed in was spotless and clean. Staff were helpful and friendly. The hotel is in a good location for attractions in the area and is a 20 minute walk to Ludlow town centre. Theres a pub next door to the hotel (The Squirrel) and a coop store nearby too.
We stayed here for a couple of nights for a short break in Ludlow. Very basic hotel, clean, but by a very noisy road on the back. Sleeping with windows open as it was warm, it seems the road used as a race track at night. Ask for room on front if staying. A good 20 minute walk into town, which was fine for us.

Booked two rooms for a long weekend.
Staff are doing a wonderful job in the circumstances. Rooms are very big and clean.
Hotel is in a good location just a mile from centre. It also has a pub and Coop next door.
Three stars might seem harsh but its a ‘good’!
We’re regular visitors to Ludlow, my family live here but thanks to illness & need to social distance we booked a family room here for 3 nights. The room rate was brilliant and really at the price we got you can’t really complain! We’ve stayed at numerous Travelodges over the years and the family room was one of the smaller I’ve seen. It’s a pretty new hotel on a small business park in the outskirts of town - walking in to Ludlow would take about 20 minutes. There’s lots of parking & the pub next door (The Squirrel) is open with food and does breakfast at the weekend.There’s also a small Co-op next to the garage on the corner of the road.
Masks have to be worn at reception and the corridors at the moment and there is sanitizer available. Our room was clean, no complaints. We’ve had a heatwave and asked for a fan (we had also brought 2) and while that helped, it was still pretty warm at nights. The pillows are a bit solid so I’d bring your own. There isn’t a hairdryer in the room (though I’m sure they’d provide one).
The staff have been friendly and helpful and allowed us to check in for no additional cost 1/2 an hour early. You get what you pay for with a Travelodge really but this has been fine & if we weren’t able to stay with family again, I would stay here.
The travelodge is just off the A49 about a 20 minute walk to the town centre. There is a Marstons pub next door which is handy. Lots of hand sanitisers in place and a requirement to wear masks in all public areas. Room was typical travelodge style and very clean. Our room was at the back of the building and was noisy when the windows were open dur to the close proximity to the A49. I would definitely stay here again if in the locality.
