This is a hotel that actually deserves the rating it has. You walk off the road up a couple of step and enter luxury (at an affordable price). From my welcome as aI entered to the warm good-bye as I left customer service was perfect. All the staff said hello and nothing was a problem.

If you were looking for a romantic getaway this would be it you need look no further 

The decor of the hotel is in perfect keeping with its surrounding and the period building. You feel as though you are in a stately home and you get a feel good factor just from that. My room was described as a cosy double. I was expecting a small room but not at all, I would of considered it a standard double room size (I would love to see how big the other rooms are!)

The location as many people have already said is fantastic for the city centre and the hotel itself is just far enough away as not to be mobbed by tourists.

The hotel does not have a lift and so you will have to go up and down the stairs, my room was on the top floor and the breakfast is in the basement so you may want to consider this. Credit to the hotel, when I booked the room through Trip Advisor, the hotel contacted me directly explained the stairs and offered to look for another room.

All in all a wonderful stay and I would go back in a heartbeat. Thank you.

Thank you – as you note we are precluded from introducing a lift as we occupy two Grade 1 listed Georgian Townhouses. We offer 17 rooms, with a couple on the ground floor and the others spread across the floors. The grand balustrade staircase is impressive though may be a challenge and so we will always look to meet your individual needs. Our rooms are unique, though offer similar facilities and we will happily describe them in detail. We are very proud of our complimentary ‘cooked to order’ breakfast and source the ingredients with great care. Many thanks for your helpful and detailed review.

Having stayed here now three times I can honestly say each and every one of them was excellent. Firstly the location couldn’t be any better and the three different rooms were equally well equipped, spotless and very comfortable. The breakfast was first rate and customer service can not be faulted.

A very high protion of bookings are from ‘return guests’. As you note our location within an iconic Grade 1 listed Georgian townhouse is ideal. A 5-minute level stroll from the heart of the city. We offer 17 unique bedrooms that range from the ‘cosy’ (standard for most hotels!) through to our celebratory four poster suites of 300 sq ft!! We take enormous pride in our ‘cooked to order ‘breakfast and like to see our guests’ set up for the day’. Many thanks and welcome back!

Having stayed in quite a number of bed and breakfasts and small hotels in Bath over the last couple of years to visit our daughter at the university, Dukes proved to be the best so far in terms of character, comfort, welcome, central location and value for money. The historic building and location made it special as did the quiet friendly helpfulness of the team there. Our good sized 'Wellington' room/suite was warm, comfortable, included a large bathroom with a bath, a soft bed and was positioned high enough up from street level for street noise to fade into the background.

Delighted that you chose to stay with us here at Dukes. Very pleased to hear that you found us the ‘best so far’.We play host to many parents ‘dropping off’ and ‘picking up’ their student children from the Universities of Bath. Always a pleasure to be party to the growth and developing independence of our guests. Even though you stayed with us on a Saturday night I am pleased that you found us to be ‘very good value’. Our intention is to offer the very best inclusive proposition in Bath, enhance the stay of our guests and help ensure they are able to focus on the purpose of their individual visit. Many thanks and we look forward to hosting you at the end of term!

Wow - I have stayed in some of the loveliest hotels around the world and this little gem has blown me away !
From the excellent customer service, attention to detail, warm, friendly and attentive team and fabulous breakfast you could not have asked for better - this hotel is perfectly situated in the centre and even offers free parking.
It was my daughter's birthday and she was so touched to receive a birthday card and box of lovely chocolates on arrival.
We are definitely coming back !
Thank you to everyone at the hotel who made our trip so memorable...

Stayed at Dukes hotel as part of a wedding group. The hotel is in an excellent and convenient location, just a few minutes walk from the city centre. The building is historically attractive and superbly adapted for purpose. Our room was comfortable, perfectly clean and well serviced. The most outstanding feature was the help provided by the manager and other staff.
I have no hesitation in highly recommending this excellent hotel.
