Stayed here with our friends from the USA. We wanted somewhere small, intimate and very English. They were absolutely delighted with our choice. Each room has traditional decor and furniture with a lovely feel. This together with breakfast in the dining room British style made the stay perfect. The staff - Kate and her partner could not have been more attentive. The dining room staff accommodated every request at breakfast which was excellent down to the cloth napkins and napkin rings.

Room tip: No lift so downstairs is nice

I am not joking! Now that we are retired we get the opportunity to travel quite a bit and we usually prefer apartments when possible because as you know stays in hotels often let you down. Not this time! I really cannot say a bad or even average thing about this hotel. We put it all down to the people who manage it and the wonderful ambiance they create in Apsley House. From the moment we met Kate, who seems to quietly and efficiently oversee everything, whilst also working as Receptionist, Porter, Waiter, Housekeeper and Tour Guide, we knew we were going to have the perfect stay. What a charming young women she is. The Mornington Room is beautiful with a very comfortable bed and a wonderful shower and oh so quiet. The location is perfect for a very short and cheap taxi into the centre of Bath for a great night out with no driving or parking issues and then the breakfast the next morning made was the icing on the cake. Jayden is a lovely smiley young women who makes you feel good about eating too much! You can’t not eat too much of a high quality, freshly cooked to order breakfast. The whole experience made us never want to leave. I could go on forever about this perfect find and we would be back there this weekend on our way home from Cornwall but unfortunately the hotel is full. No surprise there then but thank you so much to Kate for giving us the best ever start to a holiday. Kate, I just hope that one of the large hotels doesn’t find you and headhunts you because we need you to stay there doing your usual everything for when we can come back again!

We couldn't have found a more perfect hotel for our 3 day stay in Bath. Everything about this elegant Georgian estate was perfect, from our lovely 3rd floor, room with a view to the tranquil English garden where we enjoyed drinks each day. The hotel staff in nnparalleled, with special mention to Kat who attended to our every inquiry and request even arranging early breakfast on our day of departure.

As previously mentioned, the breakfasts are hearty and scrumptious. The garden is peaceful and a real bonus after a hectic day of sightseeing. Bathroom amenities were top notch and each room had a full and extensive selection of teas and coffees. If you are traveling to Bath, the Apsley House is where you want to stay.

Room tip: Try for a south facing room for gorgeous hillside views, we stayed in the Salamanco

We stayed in the Mornington room and it was beautiful. We had French windows that led out into the garden and the attention to detail in the room was impressive. We were greeted warmly when we arrived and made to feel really welcome. The bed was, without question, the most comfortable that I have ever slept in and the breakfast was wonderful along with the friendly attentive staff. This hotel truly deserves the outstanding reviews that it has received - I cannot fault this lovely hotel and look forward to returning soon.

We booked here at last minute while visiting a family member in hospital nearby. We were greeted at our car by a very friendly face, offered to take our bags and bring us a drink in the garden while we waited for our dog to be picked up. Very intuitive and caring due to our circumstances. Service was really individual, nothing was too much trouble at all and the best I have come across - a truly lovely man - do not let him go!!!
Our room was absolutely stunning, clean and so quiet - even though we were next to the dining room - we didn't hear a thing!
Breakfast was absolutely amazing, again greeted welcoming and warmly with a choice of fresh fruit, cereal, fresh croissants and a range of tasty cooked breakfasts made to order. Truly scrumptious breakfast and one of kings!
I would highly recommended this exquisite place to everyone and we will be returning. Thank you for making our stay positive and wonderful.
