“Great experience each time”
Reviewed 20 February 2012

I have know visited the Priory several times the past 2 years, what a treat, if you are ready to invest in food and wine memories, go for it. The food has always been perfect, and the wine list is always what gets me, so impressive, I can read it like a story, talking about the places and region of great wines.
If you are looking for a treat, you find your place!!

“Wonderful food, service and ambience”
Reviewed 13 February 2012

5 of the family went for a celebratory birthday lunch at the Bath Priory yesterday and had a wonderful time. The staff were very attentive but discreet and the food was exceptional. The glazed breast of lamb starter was enjoyed by 2 of the party and comments were '..so much flavour and so tender.' 3 had the hen's egg and were surprised that the accompaniments enhanced and not overpowered the egg itself. We had the woodland pork main course and again the depth of flavour was wonderful (maybe just a little bit less fat would have really been nice - but all the plates were left empty. The desserts too were wonderful leaving us feeling we had eaten enough but not overdone things. Followed by coffee and canapes which arrived on a slate with 'Happy Birthday' iced on it. It rounded off the meal superbly. We'll be going back again!

“Expensive but good food, stuffy atmosphere”
Reviewed 21 January 2012

Went here for a romantic meal and a treat with my girlfriend. The staff were very attentive and the food was of a good standard but all of this was to be expected at the price. The atmosphere is very formal and a bit too stuffy for my taste and put me off. We both had the al la carte menu and the food was good, nicely dressed plates but on a Saturday night you could hear everyones conversation and it wasn't relaxed with the constant coming and going of staff.

Food at a restaurant like this with a reputation of the chefs, should be good and it was good food. To sum it up, it was good but not mind blowingly good, stuffy formal atmosphere and over priced.
