“Perfect in every way. Can't wait to return!”
Reviewed December 15, 2014 for a stay in December 2014

Our family of four had a perfect stay at Moonstone Cottage. From our first email enquiry to (reluctant!) check-out, Katarina was friendly, helpful and professional. We have stayed in dozens of self-catering cottages, and I have nothing but praise for Moonstone: spotlessly clean, perfect location, well-equipped and a warm, serene ambience. The decor is beautiful; not your "typical" holiday cottage... Katarina has clearly endeavoured to create for her guests a true "home away from home". While we enjoyed the warm and cosy atmosphere during our December visit, we are already planning to return in spring or summer so we can appreciate the beautiful garden.

“A beautiful haven created by a beautiful lady”
Reviewed November 19, 2014 for a stay in November 2014

We stayed at Moonstone Cottage at a stressful time whilst we negotiated the purchase of a property in Glastonbury. The atmosphere of calm and caring was just what we needed to achieve a sense of peace and well being. Katarina thinks of everything to enhance the pleasure of staying in Glastonbury and in her cottage in particular, from the most practical to the deeply spiritual. The kitchen is extremely well equipped and a delight to prepare meals in. We are seasoned self-caterers and I have never encountered such a good array of pans, for instance. The bed is extremely comfortable and provides an excellent night's sleep, engulfed in a memory mattress. Candles abound and a wood fire is at the ready. Information is provided on many aspects of this wonderful area. The garden is lovely and provides views of the abbey grounds from the upper terrace. The property as a whole is kept spotlessly clean. Katarina herself is absolutely charming and we thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her and David. They have become firm friends and I am sure they will continue as such when we do finally settle in this beautiful and welcoming town.

“Absolutely charming and cosy”
Reviewed November 9, 2014 for a stay in October 2014

Moonstone Cottage is as lovely as its name. Just like Glastonbury there is a spiritual feel about the cottage and garden. Maybe it is because the garden wall is shared with the Abbey grounds. There is a patio table next to the wall which is perfect for enjoying a beverage morning or evening while contemplating the myths, lore, and history of Glastonbury. The cottage is scrupulously clean and well appointed. There is everything you need for a full meal, or a cozy evening of listening to music or watching a movie. Katarina has provided it all.

Moonstone is in a great location. The major attractions are within walking distance as are restaurants, grocery stores, pubs, and shops. There is no need for a car while in Glastonbury, but there is off the street parking infront of the flat if you drive. Glastonbury is only minutes away from Wells and convenient for day trips to the Jurassic coast and the Somerset country side. Katarina has an assortment of brochures and books about Glastonbury that will provide interesting information on the sights and sites. I was fascinated with Chalice Well, the Tor, the Abbey and especially the Arthurian legends and stories of Joseph of Arimethea. The holy thorn tree was even blooming while we were there.

Katarina and her family were very welcoming. We had chocolate and wine waiting upon our arrival. We enjoyed their company, but they honored our privacy as well.
I am looking forward to a return trip. There is no doubt we will stay at Moonstone Cottage.
Everything about Glastonbury and Moonstone Cottage was a delightful surprise.

“The Perfect Place to Stay in Southwest England”
Reviewed November 5, 2014 for a stay in June 2014

We stayed for nearly two weeks in June 2014. On the second night, we were all three sprawled on the couch and floor of the living room reading the pamphlets and books while listening to CDs that were thoughtfully provided when my husband commented that he felt like he was staying at a friend's house instead of a generic self-catering unit. There is nothing generic about Moonstone!

Katarina was an excellent host. Caring but not intrusive, with lots of great suggestions for things to do and good eats (the Thai Elephant - yum!). We very much appreciated having maps, brochures, newspapers, and flyers for local events on-hand.

The comfortable mattresses made it easy to sleep soundly with, as promised, all cotton sheets. The shower worked great and plenty of hot water even for my 16-year-old daughter.

The kitchen was outfitted with all the plates, cookware and utensils anyone would need. There was also a thoughtful assortment of food and ingredients, tea and even a bottle of wine when we arrived. All the appliances were in perfect working order. And like the rest of the house, everything was spotlessly clean. We especially enjoyed having breakfast out on the patio in the lovely backyard or sitting up on the back patio gazing over the wall at the peaceful grounds of Glastonbury Abbey.

You can see Glastonbury Tor out of the main bedroom window. We hiked up to the top 3 or 4 times. And well worth it - there are amazing views in all directions. We loved that we could just stroll into town. Didn’t have to worry about parking or figuring out the local bus schedule.

I liked that we had a driveway to park in instead of the street. Though busy at times, we never had to wait more than a few seconds before being able to pull out onto the road. Glastonbury is the perfect jumping off point for exploring - Stonehenge, Avebury, Lacock Abbey, Bristol and Bath are all within an hour’s drive.

All these months later, the charm of Moonstone has not diminished. I highly recommend staying at this happy cottage on the Isle of Avalon.

“Exceptionally clean beautiful cottage in a central location in Glastonbury”
Reviewed October 27, 2014 for a stay in April 2014

Hard to find fault with this beautiful, exceptionally clean cottage which came with the added bonus of a parking space. Great location, easy walk into the town and to the Tor. Katrina the owner made us feel very welcome offering advice on places of interest to visit and leaving some lovely chocolates in the cottage for us. There is a beautiful garden at the back of the property with a raised terrace area and a great view across the abbey gardens which are also worth a visit. I would thoroughly recommend this cottage and hope to return soon.

“Magical Moonstone”
Reviewed October 24, 2014 for a stay in May 2014

We are regulars at Moonstone and can't recommend highly enough. Wonderful, cosy cottage in a great location and such warm hosts in Katrina and family. Delightful garden backs on to the abbey and cottage lacks nothing in home comforts.

“The perfect cottage in a lovely town”
Reviewed October 22, 2014 for a stay in July 2014

It was the first time our little family travelled to Glastonbury, although our daughter already went for a short stay with her school. I choose Moonstone Cottage on Internet because of the photos and the perfect location. It was even better that what we expected. I didn't think we should find so nice owner: Katarina and David are really adorable, they have many real kind attentions for their guests! When arriving to the cottage, Katarina welcomed us warmly, made us a short but complete visit of the place and gave us a lot of informations about what to see. There are a lot to do and see in Glastonbury and also around: Wells, Bath, Cheddar gorge and caves... too much for just a week I'm afraid! But we've visited almost everything we wanted. We've enjoyed Glastonbury for everything: Chalice well, Glastonbury Tor, the Abbey and garden, the town's market, the shops... Then we also enjoyed a lot Wells and Cheddar. And most of all, we were happy to come back to the cottage every day after long walks or visits. The cottage is lovely decorated, very confortable and fully equiped with everything you need and even more. The beds are very confortable too. The garden is a treasure, overlooking Glastonbury Abbey's gardens. We enjoyed a few evening beers in that gem. Leaving the cottage and its owners was a heartbreak at the end of the week and we really hope to come back there again soon. Thank you so much Katarina for this beautiful place and our wonderful week: it's all thanks to your work in there!
I recommend Moonstone cottage to everyone who look for authentic places.
