We returned at the weekend after a wonderful week staying at this superb cottage, after a text from the owner Helen to tell us the cottage was ready earlier than the 2.30pm arrival time (which is earlier than most holiday homes) to find the heating on in a spotless cosy cottage with a welcome pack which included the usual things plus butter and eggs and advice on where we could watch the Rugby (a question I had asked Helen when I phoned) we couldn't have wanted for more.
The attention to detail was one of the thing that added to the pleasure of staying here things like lots of maps and information on things to do down to herbs in the kitchen.
We parked just down the road outside the Full Moon pub and only had difficulty in getting back once and that was late afternoon and a space became available after we returned from the small but perfect Cinema.
Last week was at first sunny but freezing followed by the very heavy snow, a quick text to Helen established that the property was vacant on the Friday night and we were able to stay one more night rather that finding a hotel we were never getting out of Wells on Friday !
We loved Wells even though we were in the depth of winter we had lots to do and there are some excellent places to eat. We tried the The Good Earth, Andre's and the Globe for food in Wells and all were very good. Lots of welcoming pubs too.
We were lucky enough to meet Helen and Mark as we were loading the car in the snow and were able to thank them in person for the lovely holiday and the extra night before we squeezed the car out of its snowy home. We will certainly be back but we think we might try the summer this time!
