We booked the cottage for 3 night but it was perfect. Firt of all the location was beautifull! So peiecefull... just how we like it. The cottage its self was so cosy. With sky tv, choice of dvd's and books.
The kitchen was very well equiped and right next to the living room so you can still be in conversation with the rest of the group. Plenty of utensils, pans, plates, cuttlery ect. The host also add that little bit extra of a few bits and bobs like bread, butter, jam, milk ect ... so after a very long journey there we could have a brew n relax.
The town was an easy walk away with lots of bits to see and do with plenty of pubs and cafe's, it started raining as we was in the town so we got the bus back which stopped right at the side of the top houses then it was only a short 2 minute walk down hill to the cottage.
We visited chedder gorge caves while we were there which was a fantastic day thip also we visited longleat safari park and house which was another fantastic day out. Only about a 40 minute drive in either direction both very svenic routes.
The only issue we had was there was a street light outside the downstairs bedroom that shon right in but there was a hook up sheet supplied but didnt realise what it was until we was packing up (we arnt nosey enough to look, our fault not the host). Couldnt recoment this enough it was "Spot On"
Just like to thank the hosts again for such a loveley stay and we hope to visit again!
I had thought that I wouldn't write a review this time as this cottage is so perfect you will all want to book a holiday here and there won't be any dates left for us! Anyway - being of a generous nature - I finally decided I would share our secret hideaway with you! However if you can avoid booking in November we would be grateful!!!
Perfect stay in a great little cottage. All the amenities we needed and really comfy beds. Chris and Viv were perfect hosts. Being able to walk into Wells and leave the car was a bonus. Plenty of parking.
My husband and I stayed at the cottage for a week in early October. We have family in the area and love Wells, which is a gorgeous and historic little city. Chris and Viv were excellent at providing timely responses and an abundant amount of information on the cottage and surrounding area including short cuts to walk into Wells, great directions, and local pubs and restaurants.
The cottage was absolutely perfect, I had selected it based on previous reviews and was not disappointed. It had everything we could have needed, nice sized rooms, fully-equipped kitchen, great shower, cable TV, reliable Wi-Fi ( a must for us!) and an exquisite little walled patio garden. The area was very quiet, the only sounds we heard during our week were the birds singing and the occasional car passing by. Parking was close and convenient. There were plenty of DVDs, books, and games, and a thoughtful welcome package.
Overall all, this was an excellent place to stay, highly recommended!
Had another lovely staye at this cottage. Enjoyed the garden this time as weather was good .looking forward to returning next year
About a mile from Wells (a pleasant countryside walk to get there) located in a quiet village. East access to Wookey Hole and Cheddar. A wonderfully maintained cottage with plenty of space (there were three of us, two adults and a 5 year old boy) to keep all our bits and pieces. Several games and toys on hand for us to play. Kitchen has all modcons including highly useful dishwasher and tumble dryer. Big TV in the spacious, very comfortable and pleasantly lit living room. There's a charming patio area for breakfast or cold drinks come the evening. Can't recommend highly enough, great contact beforehand from Chris.
