“Well appointed cottage in convenient location”
Reviewed September 24, 2017 for a stay in September 2017

Very attractive and comfortable internal layout, apart from the stone staircase which could present problems for the elderly and less mobile. The cottage is located in the centre of the village within 100 yards of an excellent pub for eating out. Convenient for the beautiful town of Wells and other places of interest. We enjoyed our stay.

“Really excellent holiday rental”

Had a very good stay at East Cottage for a week in August. It is extremely well situated near to Wells and Shepton Mallet so good for travel around Somerset, Wiltshire and Dorset. The Cottage is very well furnished and equipped with everything you would need. A particularly nice lounge was always appreciated after a long day. I can also recommend The George the local pub nearby for the atmosphere and excellent meals they do serve there. I can certainly recommend East Cottage for a comfortable and relaxing stay. Many thanks to Tim, the owner for his help.

“Lovely old cottage”
Reviewed October 1, 2015 for a stay in September 2015

This was as pictured and very lovely. We especially enjoyed the fireplace. It would have been nice if there was laundry powder as the general shop had closed before we checked in. A drier would have made it perfect. All in all a wonderful stay

Thank you for your review. Glad you liked the cottage and enjoyed your stay.
Thank you for the useful feedback. We will make sure laundry powder is provided in future. We will also consider a tumble drier for the future. There is already a clothes airer in the utility room and a washing line in the garden.
Hope to welcome you back one day.

Ideally situated this small cost cottage was just what we needed for a half term break. There is nothing to fault. It is exactly as described by the owners for whom nothing is a problem. The village itself has all you need and is a great centre from which to tour the area. The cottage is quiet and well ordered.

“Perfect”
Reviewed March 29, 2015 for a stay in December 2014

We stayed at East Cottage in December. We wanted a quiet break following several hectic weeks. As we have stayed at School Cottages several times, we knew the standard would be high.
The cottage is very well appointed, and very comfortable. The breakfast hamper was generous and very tasty. We especially enjoyed the log fires in the evening. A lovely touch was to find a Christmas tree in the sitting area.
We visited Bath Christmas market, Wells and Axbridge. There is a lovely walk around Axbridge and the reservoir.

“A little Gem”

e were one of the first people to stay at East Cottage in May 2014, There was a lot to live up to as School Cottages is amazing, however we were not disappointed.

The rooms have been furnished to a very good standard, beautifully dressed with some lovely accessories we felt very comfortable being there.

The bedrooms and beds very comfortable, lovely bedding!!
The breakfast hamper was delicious, bacon & sausages fab the best was the bread, sadly no home made jam though :-( your mum has that off to a pat, it would been nice to add that in the hamper.

local pub was friendly and very welcoming the landlord spent some time chatting to us about the cottage and village, we ate in their twice both times were of very good quality, the landlady mentioned how the fish had been caught that morning and she had deboned it, it was delicious.

We went to the Pony& Trap on the Friday, although we both wished we had gone to the local although of different quality we both felt the local was a better night out!! that says a lot about the P&T ......

You guys have yet again found a little gem and turned it into a very welcoming place to stay, loved the little garden shame no ducks as you have at School Cottages but then you cant have everything.
Looking forward to visiting you again

“Time stands still in this fantastic place”
Reviewed March 24, 2015 for a stay in May 2014

What a fantastic cottage. When we stayed at school cottages we thought that was as good as it gets. Well this is as good possibly better. Great location excellent refurbishment of an old cottage. Superbly maintained by Tim, Nigel and family. An absolute pleasure to stay here.
Lovely village with a great local pub.
One major complaint - Tim's mum's jam was missing
