Decent for walking the dog, few trails to follow, with decent views of Stafford. Walk up to castle is quite steep however.

Lovely views at sunset! We were sorry we arrived after the welcome center was closed for the day but enjoyed walking up to the castle, reading the placards and enjoying the lovely views of the surrounding area at dusk. The medieval garden would also be interesting in the summer.

The castle is kind of ruined, and you can't get in it. but what i really enjoyed is the view which was really incredible, and the road you have to walk to get to the castle is just amazing in everything since their is lots of big tall trees in the area.

I enjoyed the walk up to and around the motte; however felt a bit let down that I couldn't view inside the ruins (only walk around them - I was there at 1030am on a Saturday morning) and that the herb garden was just overgrown weeds and no care to it.
