Now I'm not an outdoor-sy person, infact I hate it, everything about it. I'm also phobic of public toilets and avoid them wherever I can. Oh and I always wear heels. So you'd think glamping in a beehive, in the middle of a field, with a shared toilet block a short walk away would be my idea of absolute hell. But I absolutely loved it and I can honestly say that staying here has converted me!!

All the staff are lovely, right from the stage where you ring up to book, giving you a wonderful warm reception when you arrive though to chatting with the gentleman who had arrived to start getting the pods ready for the next guests as people were checking out.

The facilities are also immaculate. The whole park is extremely well maintained and, to my delight (previously mentioned toilet phobia in mind) the toilet and shower block are impeccably clean. It is purely for the glamping guests too and you are given a pass code for it which means it is not shared with the whole site. And the carpark is well organized and close to the pods

We loved the experience of staying in the beehive (we thought we'd try it as something different because despite my reservations about glamping the reviews for this site were great) and I'm so glad we did! It has everything you need for a comfortable stay. A lovely peaceful setting for sitting outside having a BBQ. We are already desperate to return and hoping we can sneak another visit in this year.

There were a couple of small negatives; like the fridge having a strange smell and leaking, the floor in the pod was sticky when we arrived so we had to clean it/there were a few bits of paper/litter laying round under the beds suggesting the floor could have been cleaned better, the pod did have some ants but I think that's unavoidable with any sort of camping and it wasn't a big problem and the bar (I don't know if it's the same owners as the site) was disappointing as it was very quiet and definitely aimed at the older generation with music played, golf on tv etc. Really not somewhere a younger couple or families would spend time. We only went once (10pm on a Friday) but didn't stay long, maybe we picked a bad time. Seemed like a waste of such a beautiful building as we would certainly have spent more time in there should we go again and the weather be bad. None of these things detracted from how much we enjoyed our visit and so I can't give anything other than 5 stars. We really did have a fantastic time

Thanks for a great stay, we hope to be back soon!

we have just got back from a 2 night stay in one of the sites glamping snugs.

The snug itself is a small wooden hut that is double glazed and has a fold down sofa bed and a set of bunk beds and a fridge, it is basic but warm and well kept and comes with an oil radiator for colder nights,it also includes a storsage box and a dustpan and brush, there are also 4 power points although 1 is used by the fridge.
My only complaint would be that the bunks are not very big, i am 5ft 6 and i found my feet were touching the end of the frame of the bed. Another minor annoyance is that ants were in the cabin but not many and were easily dealt with but what can you expect when you are in a field lol, please don't let this put you off.

The glamping section has its own toilet porta cabin loo block that is accessed using a door code used only by the glamping section of the park which were clean but has sealant hanging loose from the joints of the ceiling in the shower section, another thing i found wierd was that there are no cold taps in the sinks which means you have to clean your teeth using warm/hot water.

The glamping section has its own car parking section and each snug has its own space but the actual car park i found was not very wide, it could do with being about 5ft wider as if 2 long cars are parked facing each other it can make it tricky to get out.

There is a modern bar area on site that we only used once for a drink but it was clean, we didn't try the restaurant. We ate at an Indian restaurant 2 mins away from the site ( turn left on exiting the site) and there is also a chinese and a pub just as close.

There is a river taxi to take you to Stratford which is very useful and was only £2 per person each way and it is located by the restaurant building.

On the whole i realise it looks like i am complaining and yes there are some niggles that could be easily fixed, but it is a handy place to stay and is decent value so give it a go, it's like being in a tent but warmer and more waterproof.

Overall the site is very good well maintained shower block and toilets spotless. Compared to other sites of this calibre we found it to be well overpriced you are certainly paying top for everything. Our main bone of contention was the restaurant - on a bank holiday they had minimal staff who didn't seem to know what they were doing. We had to wait a long time for our drinks and even longer for the food which was nice but certainly not worth the price one of our party asked for a portion of baked beans and was charged £4 for a tablespoonful !!!! and after all of the that they had the gall to charge 17.5% service charge they certainly saw us coming wont be going back

Stayed again, year after year we come here and never disappointed with this little gem right on the river bank, although weather not too good this week, the cottage is very comfortable. Closed season for fishing on the river but can start again in June because we do come back twice per year
