We were hoping to have a lunch time meal at the Hatton Arms after a walk down the canal with two grandchildren and a small dog. Initially we sat outside but as the weather turned windy we asked if we could sit inside, as we had a dog with us we were told that we could only sit at a table situated just inside the door.
This was a long high table set along the wall and as another couple were sitting at the end of it (not eating but just having a drink) there was no way we could have fitted around the table. Although the young waiter was very apologetic the landlord/manager was no help at all.
This was very disappointing as the pub was not particularly busy and there were plenty of tables available.
Needless to say we moved on to another pub and received a much more friendly reception. We will not bother wasting our time going to the Hatton Arms again.
