We were hoping to have a lunch time meal at the Hatton Arms after a walk down the canal with two grandchildren and a small dog. Initially we sat outside but as the weather turned windy we asked if we could sit inside, as we had a dog with us we were told that we could only sit at a table situated just inside the door.

This was a long high table set along the wall and as another couple were sitting at the end of it (not eating but just having a drink) there was no way we could have fitted around the table. Although the young waiter was very apologetic the landlord/manager was no help at all.

This was very disappointing as the pub was not particularly busy and there were plenty of tables available.

Needless to say we moved on to another pub and received a much more friendly reception. We will not bother wasting our time going to the Hatton Arms again.

It's a sad place now for people who loved the old Waterman as it was.
Full of kids and diners, it's hardly a pub any more. But what a fantastic spot.
Staff are indifferent to customers.
I'm tired of pub food sameness.

Went here with my wife for sunday lunch, excellent service at the bar, ordered food there too,i had only sat down for 5 minutes and the food was on the table!.....brilliant!
Had the seafood platter, very filling, scampi a tiny bit overdone but ok,maybe a bit more salmon needed, but a very very tasty meal which filled me up.
Fantastic views on the balcony, and beer is superb.

Will come here again.

The Hatton Arms is an exemplar of how to successfully renovate, furnish and run a Gastro pub. So much attention to layout, design and detail. All fit in so well.
Party of four went for lunch. The first time for my wife and I. A Tuesday and the place was packed indicating it's popularity. My gammon steak, slice of grilled pineapple, fried egg served with great chips was excellent. Pudding of peaches, pineapple with warm toffee sauce and ice cream one of the best ever. Service was a bit slow owing to the large number of customers, no doubt attracted by the warm sunny day. It is a big place, especially with the outside lawn eating area with views of the canal and locks.
Try this place.
