The restaurant looks interesting from the outside but inside it incredible. This is an amazing transformation of a canal warehouse you can spend a long time admiring the interior. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The menu gave a good choice of food to suit all tastes, the food was freshly prepared and well presented. Cooked to perfection and extremely tasty. Even the bill was to my liking, surprisingly cheap for such an excellent meal. Highly recommended.

Thank Ian P

Hi Ian P,

It's so lovely to hear you enjoyed Canal House - the home to all things weird and wonderful! We pride ourselves in an individual interior and an even better menu which I'm pleased to hear you also got to fall in love with! We hope to see you soon; summer is fast approaching so why not enjoy all of the above in the sunshine..?

Best wishes,
The Canal House team

This place certainly has a nice setting alongside the canal and close to the city centre. A very nice menu and a wide selection of beers, wines and spirits. Nice friendly staff on hand to make sure you have an enjoyable visit.

Loved the food and the atmosphere! Looking forward to a return trip! We parked the other side of the canal and walked across which was fun but by the time we left the return way across the canal was locked so we had a long walk back to the car on a cold night!

Hi there,

Thank you for your lovely review - we're glad you found our venue equally as lovely and look forward to welcoming you back. Hopefully with the sun appearing you can enjoy the food by the canal side too and not have the cold walk back!
Apologies about the canal being locked - the residents of the canal side lock it to ensure their privacy.

Best wishes,
The Canal House team

Very nice surroundings, will be great in the summer. We stopped off for drinks of which the wine was fantastic. Checking the menu there seemed a huge selection of ales and the food that we saw looked wonderful.

Our second time of dining here so we feel qualified to comment. Basically they have got it right with extremely friendly and efficient staff and a wonderful food and drinks menu to tempt and satisfy anyone. The hanging kebabs look delicious which will be a must for our next visit. Located on the canal side this is the house of James Brindley. Wonderful décor and a private room to book for a larger party ( 16 or so) Live music too and outside tables by the water for warmer days.Try it !
