Recommended length of visit: 1-2 hours
Owner description: Fifteen acres of glorious landscaped gardens with over 7000 plants, shrubs and trees - and a new Butterfly House. Close to Birmingham city centre, this hidden tranquil setting also has four glasshouses taking the visitor from the hot steamy heat of the Tropical rainforest with its rich vegetation, through to the Sub-Tropical House with its stunning palms and tree ferns. The visitor moves through to the Mediterranean House, with its citrus plants and bright conservatory-type blooms - and finally to the stark contrast of the Arid House with desert climate and stunning cacti.

Can't speak highly enough about the beautiful gardens and the wildlife there. We took a picnic in and it was lovely to sit under the trees and watch the peacocks wandering about. Beautiful.

expensive but worth visiting. Fabulous indoors and outdoors- traditional jazz at weekends in the summer at the outdoor bandstand. Amazing plants and wonderful birds. Excellent food, take your wallet for the gift shop- that's pricey too

The best is worth it, even if you can’t afford it every day – and there is a wide range of products in the shop to suit all budgets.

I have visited the gardens to see the wonderful plants and colours but also have been here for reception venues, parties and even my prom when I was back in secondary school! It's a great little venue, very clean, well maintained and the services that it offers are great. I have a great experience every time I've been!

This really is a place for all the family. I enjoyed the CERAMICS EXHIBITION WHICH IS held in August each year in the Aviary. There is plenty of space for children to explore and play, the cafe has some delicious food but can get very busy. You can sit on the lawns and listen to bands playing if you choose the right day. Many interesting plants in the beautifully maintained grounds. The shop has many gifts and cards for sale and you can use an electric mobility scooter (best to make sure they have one available before you visit). to get around the gardens and greenhouses. Parking good.

I have attended several day and evening functions here which have always been good. The gardens are lovely, especially during the summer months.
