I have been coming to Harborne on and off for a few years now but never tried the plough. I had heard mixed reviews about the place from the locals in Harborne. Firstly the look of the place is fresh and different. The staff are polite and plentiful. The drinks are expensive but no better than the premium end of drinks in the green man over the road. Menu looks nice with lots of people eating food so we gave it a go. For the price I was disappointed. The presentation seemed rushed. And meat chewy. My partner had a pizza with a soggy undercooked flour coated bottom and skimpy on the toppings. We will not be returning for food.

2.12.17 - we headed to the Plough for a few drinks to start off our christmas work night out - when we walked in there was a terrible fish aroma, very strong & lingering. We ended up taking our drinks by the door to get fresh air as people entered/left the pub. Consequently we stayed for only one drink - we didn't want to risk our clothes having this smell all night whilst we were celebrating - very disappointing.

Pricey for what is essentially pub grub. Nice decor but food lacking. Coffee also terrible and too small (3 mouthfuls) and dont give you enough milk.

I visited the Plough on Friday 17th Nov. at approx. 11.00 am. Not particularly impressed with decor. I ordered an on-tap lemonade with ice (glass half full of ice!) and was charged an extortionate £2.75p (for half a glass of on-tap lemonade!!!) The member of staff that served me was "full of himself" and his manner left a lot to be desired. That aside, how can you justify the price of £2.75p for this drink? I will not be recommending this pub and will walk 30 yards across the road to the Green Man, where the surroundings are more pleasant and the drinks reasonably priced.

Booked lunch for 5 on a Saturday afternoon. We ordered pizzas, fish and chips and chicken Kiev. Prices were a little on the high side but the food was excellent, very tasty and served quickly. Would definitely recommend this restaurant. Only slight criticism was that it was a little cold sitting out in the conservatory but apart from that no complaints.
