“What an amazing place!”
Reviewed June 29, 2017 for a stay in June 2017

I was invited to this beautiful place by a friend of mine for a few days and I was amazed by the barns, beautifully decorated, all mod con, modern bathrooms and so well fitted kitchen! Lovely bedrooms with lovely linen.
The location is ideal in a very peaceful village, the owners are extremely friendly
The ideal place to relax and go for long walks.
I would love to return to this little heaven!

“As wonderful as ever”
Reviewed April 21, 2017 for a stay in April 2017

This was my third visit to the Cart Shed and it was as wonderful as ever - with the added bonus of bluebells shimmering in the woods. The same warm welcome; log basket full; cake on the table; wine in the fridge; comfortable bed; fluffy towels; good bed linen. I could go on and on. Thank you Kelly and the Huxham family.

“The perfect weekend away!”
Reviewed April 3, 2017 for a stay in March 2017

A huge group of us stayed here in March for a 30th birthday, we'd booked all three barns and had a person in every bed, so it's fair to say we were testing the place fully!
We were treated to such a warm welcome by Philip and felt immediately at home in this beautiful building as soon as we arrived. The barns come as three separate buildings, or can be hired at the same time for one party to use all three at the same time (note, there is no internal access between the separate buildings, you need to go outside to access each building). Each building had everything you could need, with top marks on all fronts, cleanliness, meeting expectations, amenities, you name it.
The outside space is fantastic as well, the gardens are linked via latched gates, so you'll either have access to all three if you have all the buildings, or have your own spacious and beautiful separate garden if you hire one of the buildings.
The gardens also link onto the fields that you look over from the barns, from which you can access a number of beautiful country walks.
Only a mile (20min walk) to the nearest pub (Barley Mow, Walderton) which serves classic pub meals to an excellent standard, great beer garden as well with weeping willows along a narrow stream.
Only half an hours drive to West Wittering Beach as well (nearest sandy beach), which is a beautiful place for all (though I'd pick a warmer time of year than we did!).
Overall, I cannot fault Pitlands Barns in any way, I was blown away by this place, we're already planning when we can go back!

“Don't miss this gem of a place!”
Reviewed January 9, 2017 for a stay in January 2017

Celebration for a friend's 50th birthday - just awesome! Such a lovely location. The barns themselves are exquisitely finished. Very comfortably furnished and clean as a whistle. We had a homemade cake left for us by the owners as well as a bottle of wine and milk, tea, coffee and sugar. So thoughtful! If you want a break with friends and family you could not do better than this. It's remote so you'll need transport but we managed to get taxis to a really good pub restaurant (Fox & Hounds) in nearby Funtington (shout out to 626 Cars!). We had private caters come and make dinner on one evening which worked out brilliantly but with 3 kitchens (1 in each of the 3 barns) you could easily cater for 14 of you, no problem. Put simply this place is. It to be missed out on - treat yourself, you won't regret it!

“We will definitely be back!!”
Reviewed April 19, 2016 for a stay in April 2016

We booked all three of the barns at Pitlands Farm for a large family weekend and couldn't have been happier with everything there. The barns themselves are immaculate and luxurious with everything you could possibly need during your stay and the scenery was spectacular. We were lucky that the sun shone during our stay so we also made use of the lovely gardens and found a box of balls, racquets and garden games to use whilst we were there. We were even invited to join the family and feed the chickens one morning which the younger ones of our group particularly enjoyed. We had two toddlers with us and when we arrived Kelly arranged for the stair gates to be put on the stairs in the main house so that was great peace of mind for us. There was even Milk, Wine and homemade cake left for us on arrival.
The booking procedure was easy and Kelly was easily contactable to answer any questions we had.
We will definitely be going back for another stay in the not too distant future.
Thank you to Kelly and the rest of the family x

“Perfect Classy Hen Do Venue!”
Reviewed March 2, 2016 for a stay in February 2016

We were a group of 16 women aged from 25 to 60 something! What a fabulous venue... beautiful, spotlessly clean, spacious and well designed. Right from the start we loved it when we arrived to find a home baked cake, some flowers and a bottle of wine! Kelly the owner came to see us briefly when we arrived and then after that just left us to it, but let us know she was there if we needed her. We used caterers Cook & Buttle recommended by the venue for a meal on one of the nights and they were fabulous too. The location is stunning... in the middle of nowhere so we really felt we were a long way from anywhere. The barns have everything you could need. Couldn't speak more highly of the place. Thank you so much to Pitlands Barns.
