I came across Lister Park by accident when I was researching art galleries and discovered Cartwright Hall. The park was an added bonus. Very well kept grounds, a boating lake with a little cafe, tennis courts and a play area for the children. It's easy to get to by public transport with the train station (Frizinghall) only ten minutes walk away and with trains from Leeds and Bradford. The walk is a little steep though so be prepared. There are plenty of benches situated all around the park to rest a moment and take in the scenery. I'd also recomment taking some time to go around the art gallery, on of the best I've seen in Yorkshire. A very enjoyable day out.
