“Home from home!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 May 2012

We were looking for a bed in Leeds for one night over a weekend but reviews about hen / stag parties at other hotels put us off. Then we found this place which seemed ideal as it was centrally located but without the noise! We weren’t disappointed. From the moment we booked to the moment we left, our needs were put first. We pre-booked a space in the secure, shuttered underground car park (£12 per night), worth every penny to know your vehicle is secure.

Check-in was easy, efficient and polite. We had apartment 103 – a one-bedroom apartment with large window that overlooks one of the side streets. Very comfortable bed, beautifully decorated, flatscreen tv and good wardrobe space with safe (the light that comes on when you slide the doors back is a nice touch).

The lounge / kitchen also had a large window with plenty of seating around a large coffee table and flatscreen TV, small table and chairs laid with crockery and a well-equipped kitchen area with biscuits, bread, butter, jam, beans, fruit juice, milk, eggs, teabags, coffee and sugar! We’d had a near crash on the way to Leeds so a big pot of tea with some biscuits once we arrived helped calm us down! There were also a couple of books / folders with information / maps.

The bathroom was roomy with plenty of towels on the heated rail, a great shower and a small selection of toiletries by L’Occitane. Perfect!

We liked that we were left to our own devices knowing that you could ask for assistance at any time. We needed a decent nights’ sleep as our weekend was full and tiring and we got one. There were other people staying there but it was lovely and quiet.

Close to railway station, bars, restaurants, shops and gallery / museum. Would definitely use this again. Recommended.

I wrote my last review about the Chambers in 2008. Since then, I have stayed here almost every week for, on average, two nights a week. The first thing to say is that the people at the Chambers accommodate my foibles very well. I prefer rooms that face out onto the road, I don’t like being in the same room every week and, occasionally, I need extra plates and glasses because I’ve invited a few friends round to eat. The staff on reception and the housekeeper are unfailingly cheerful and polite and you never have to repeat a request, everything is dealt with efficiently and well.

That brings me on to the ethos of the Chambers – consistency and attention to detail. I like the different rooms I stay in. I also like the fact that things are predictable. The fridge will be stocked with breakfast goodies, the cleaning materials will be in the right place, there will be a dish cloth in the drawer, the TV will be set on BBC1 and, best of all, everything will be clean. No cobwebs, no dirty bathroom grout, no sticky finger marks on cupboards and the fridge will be spick and span. All boring stuff, I know. However, if stuff like that matters to you then you will like the Chambers.

As for me, I stand by the statement in my original review – I’ll go on staying here until they throw me out!

we stayed at the chambers a couple of weeks ago. We had a one night stay for shopping and a night out. We booked a studio apartment, but some how ended up in a 1 bedroom apartment which was excellent. The apartment consisted of a sitting room, dining table, fully fitted kitchen area and balcony. seperate bedroom with wardrobes, nice sized bathroom with seperate shower. the apartments came with tea, coffee, milk, juice, bread, beans, crisps, eggs and home made buscuits. Lovely toliteries in the bath room.
excellent reception staff and bar in the foyer. Great secure underground parking. 5 mins walk to the city centre. we would definately stay there again.

We were in Leeds for a weekend away and had read the reviews and decided to stay here. We weren't disappointed.

We had pre booked a car parking space in their underground car park. This was not only convenient but also good knowing your car is in a secure car park during your stay.

Check in was easy and the receptionist was very friendly, polite and efficient. We had booked a one bedroom apartment with a balcony and whilst the views were only of a courtyard and an empty office block opposite, it was worth it to have some outside space.

The apartment itself is amazing. They had provided us with some bread, baked beans, butter, jams, marmalade, milk, eggs, fruit juice, crisps, biscuits and loads of teabags, instant coffee and sugar. Something you don't usually get at an apartment. A very nice touch.

The whole apartment was modern and very very clean. The kitchen and bathroom especially. The dining table had been laid with cutlery and crockery and a vase of flowers.

The bedroom was big and had its on flatscreen tv. The whole place seemed very quiet and we had a good night's sleep which wasn't disturbed by outside noise or noise on the corridors.

The bathroom had soft bath and hand towels and plenty of shampoo, conditioner, body lotion and shower gel as well as a bar of soap. The shower was powerful and easy to use.

The lounge area was very comfortable and light.

It is in a convenient location to the station and pubs and restaurants.

Overall I would definitely recommend The Chambers to friends and would have no hesitation in staying here again.

In the last 5 months I have needed to stay in Leeds on several occasions ranging from a couple of days to a week. Together with my family and relatives we have stayed in four different apartments from studio to two bedroom apartments. Each apartment is of a very high standard with excellent self catering facilities. The rooms are of a good size enabling one to relax at the end of the day. Whilst one can never replace home (I am originally from Leeds) this is a near as one can be to staying at home – from the warm welcome to all the friendly and very helpful staff who are there to make your stay most enjoyable. Even if one does not want to do any cooking staying in a small hotel room simply cannot compare. This is the place to stay in Leeds.
