My wife and I stayed here for one night in room 4 on the 1st floor which was of a very high standard, tastefully decorated and had a great sea view. We both had delicious evening meals in the hotel restaurant and the breakfast was very good. Huw and Beth were excellent hosts and we thoroughly recommend this hotel.

Visited Aberystwyth for the first time. Come lunch time we were uninspired by the options in the town centre so we went back to the esplanade to look closer at a menu board we had passed earlier. There were two special options listed including a drink for £10 so we went in to find out more. Everything about the restaurant says "professional" and so we were more than happy to commit to lunch. The menu listed some very interesting, good value options. My wife chose the special fish pie and I opted for a Bali coconut curry with tiger prawns. Both were beautifully presented, were good helpings and fulfilled the taste excellence promised by the wider experience. It's one of these places you wish were closer to where you live. Service was unobtrusive, courteously helpful and smiley. The restaurant is a semi-basement and part of a wide terrace of sea-facing properties so be careful not to miss it!

We only stayed the one night anf wished it had been longer. The hotel is in an excellent spot literally within a stone's throw of the sea. Our room with sea view was very comfy with a huge bed and sitting area. Well equiped shower room all spotlessly clean. The evening meal was excellent with a large choice of menu. Breakfast was also very good and to cap it all, the staff were attentive and delightful. The only drawback was lack of a lift and pretty tortuous staircase, not ideal for the physically challenged. We look forward to our next, longer, visit.

Well worth a visit for a special occasion or an indulgent meal out. The food is excellent, consistently. The small dining room feels private and intimate and staff are polite and warm.

I didn't stay here but only because they were fully booked - I would have if I could have!

From the very first moment of entering the Gwesty Cymru, there was a lovely ambience about the place. Extremely friendly staff, very helpful and attentive. The choice of food was excellent, and the presentation and quality was absolutely amazing.
An extremely enjoyable first experience, and would certainly have no hesitation in staying here in the future.
A mention must be made of the young Dutch girl who was obviously enjoying her work in the hotel, and extremely friendly too. An excellent multilingual ambassador for the hotel!!

Room Tip: A lovely hotel / restaurant
